RED WING For the Goodhue County Board, the new year began with the swearing-in of members and the election of chair and vice chair.
Todd Greseth, District 3, was sworn-in for his first term after winning the seat formerly held by Commissioner Barney Nesseth, who decided not to seek reelection after one term.
Commissioner Linda Flanders, District 1, begins her first full term after winning a special election in November 2019 to serve the remaining portion of Commissioner Ron Allen’s term after his death in April 2019.

RED WING With less than a week to go before newly elected local politicians are sworn in, the Red Wing incoming and outgoing mayors are preparing for the transition.
Sean Dowse served as mayor for four years and there are many accomplishments of which he is proud.
“I think it all began with the 2040 process,” Dowse said. “I really enjoyed working with the citizens of Red Wing and the city staff and the consultants that were brought into the project.”
Red Wing s Youth Commission begins at last

Mayor Sean Dowse swore in the 11 members of the Youth Commission on Wednesday, Dec. 16.
Alainn Hanson began working on a potential youth commission her freshman year. Now, during her senior year at Red Wing High School, the commission has finally come to fruition.
On Wednesday, Dec. 16, staff Liaison Helen Korbel called the meeting to order.
Like all boards and commissions, the first meeting was organization focused. Along with setting a meeting schedule and adopting rules of order, the 11 member commission voted to select a chair, vice chair and pro tem.
