PUTRAJAYA, April 27 The Federal Court today ordered businessman Zaidi Kanapiah or better known as “Datuk Addy Kana” and two policemen who were detained under the Prevention of Crime Act (Poca) 1959 in connection with an illegal online gambling syndicate, be released immediately.

KLUANG, April 25 The Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities (MPIC) through the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) is in the midst of producing a new variety of oil palm tree that will grow up to 20ft only to facilitate crop harvesting.
Its Deputy Minister Datuk Seri Wee Jeck Seng said although trees from the new variety will be shorter than the existing breed which could reach 40 to 50 ft, the quality of the fruit and oil produced are still the same.

Former education minister Maszlee Malik has called on the government to expedite the delivery of 150,000 laptops to students as promised under Budget 2021.
He said this is because as schools in some districts were placed under the enhanced movement control order (MCO), students from the B4 group and rural areas once again have to deal with issues concerning the Teaching and Learning at Home (PDPR).
The Simpang Renggam lawmaker stressed that PDPR is meaningless if the students don t have gadgets to study and if the area has a weak.
