London's Metropolitan Police force is under heavy pressure to explain its actions during a vigil for a woman whom one of the same force's officers is accused of murdering.

The 33-year-old was last seen walking home after leaving a friend s house on Leathwaite Road in Clapham, southwest London, at about 9pm on March 3. Her disappearance sparked a huge operation to find her, but yesterday it was confirmed her body had been found in a woodland in Kent. Reclaim These Streets had been planning to host a gathering on Clapham Common in south London today, near to where Ms Everard went missing.

Speaking in the Daily Telegraph Lord Woodcock said the UK must also “take notice” of the far right.
He also added the left has been “overstepping the mark into antisocial behaviour”.
He said: “We must be vigilant against a similar blind spot in Britain to the prospect of progressive extremism.
“That is the unacceptable disruption or even violence carried out in the name of progressive causes.”
