Late Wednesday, the deceased was identified as Air Force veteran and Trump supporter
Ashli Babbitt. Babbitt was a California resident who served 14 years in the military; according to her husband, she was fatally shot by a Capitol Police officer as the riot spilled into the U.S. Capitol. Babbitt’s Twitter account, replete with pro-Trump and conspiracy theory tweets, showed multiple posts in the days and hours leading up to the riot at the Capitol.
Eighteen states, with Texas in the lead, are suing Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Georgia and Michigan to invalidate their election results. Donald Trump is intervening as a private citizen who ran for office and was treated very, very badly. Documents are here.
The eighteen will all send their votes for Trump to the electoral college next week. The states’ attorneys general are Republicans licking Trump’s boots.
