Duo jailed after Chester family threatened with air gun in their own home

TWO men have been jailed after threatening a family with an air gun in their own home. James Hindley of Churton Road, Chester and Jamie McLoughlin, of Irvings Crescent, Saltney, were sentenced on Friday, May 14 at Chester Crown Court. The court heard how the 31-year-olds visited a pub on Chester Street, Saltney at around 9.40pm on December 18, 2019 but became aggressive; the owner asked them to leave and when outside Hindley threatened that he’d get someone to burn down the pub. They then left in a grey Ford Transit van. At 3.45am that same night three men visited an address on Clover Place and made demands for money.

How a stylist tailored a fashion designer’s outdated Singapore home for the 21st century Traditional cheongsams can be exquisite expressions of elegance, but their limitations are clear to anyone who has worn one: they are restrictively narrow in parts, oppressively warm in humid climes and overly formal for everyday life. The same could have been said about the house that former scientist Ee-ling Fock and her radiologist husband, Eric Ting, bought in the central Singapore suburb of Novena in 2018. The outdated home, she realised, could be tailored for the 21st century, just as she had artfully modernised the Chinese dress for her home-grown fashion label, The Missing Piece.
