Falana, who is the interim chairman, Alliance on Surviving COVID-19 and Beyond, said this in a statement on Sunday titled, ‘Governments Must Rescue All Abducted Students. The activist sympathised with the relatives of the students who were murdered by one of the several gangs of bandits operating without any serious challenge in many states in the North-West zone. READ ALSO: The ASCAB chairman said as usual, both the Federal Government and the Kaduna State Government had perfunctorily condemned the reckless killing of the students but the official condemnation is not enough.

Judges shouldn’t be part of judiciary fund management – ASCAB The Punch Published 12 April 2021 The Alliance on Surviving COVID-19 and Beyond says the Judicial Staff Union of Nigeria and the Nigerian Bar Association should put in place a transparency mechanism that will exclude judges from managing funds budgeted for the judiciary. This is according to a statement on Sunday titled, ‘ASCAB Seeks Transparency Mechanism to Manage Funds for the Judiciary,’ signed by its interim Chairman, Mr Femi Falana (SAN). According to ASCAB, the mechanism will prevent judges from being subjected to undue interference by legislative bodies and investigation by anti-graft agencies.

Femi Falana The Alliance on Surviving COVID-19 and Beyond (ASCAB), led by human rights activist, Mr. Femi Falana (SAN) has said that the Judicial Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) and the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) should put in place a transparency mechanism that will exclude judges from managing funds budgeted for the judiciary. The group stated this in a statement issued yesterday and titled, ‘ASCAB Seeks Transparency Mechanism to Manage Funds for the Judiciary,’ which was signed by Falana. According to ASCAB, the mechanism would prevent judges from being subjected to undue interference by legislative bodies and investigation by anti-graft agencies.
