Western New York wins thanks to your votes
With all of the fear, outrage and uncertainty surrounding this year, there was also plenty of positivity and pride in our city. Western New Yorkers turned out online in a big way and, thanks to your votes, Fredonia was featured on the series Small Business Revolution, the National Comedy Center in Jamestown was named Best New Museum in America, Frank Gourmet Hot Dogs in Kenmore won $50 thousand dollars, and Buffalo s Cami Clune made it to the top 10 on The Voice.
Orange County Malls Quiet Days Before Christmas
Stay-at-home orders and hard economic times gave some Orange County, California, shoppers a reprieve from the usual mall frenzy just days before Christmas.
The scene at three local malls South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, Fashion Island in Newport Beach, and the Irvine Spectrum Center appeared to reveal a more restrained approach to in-person perusing as the holiday neared.
At the Irvine Spectrum Center, where tall palm trees and a Ferris wheel mark the outdoor mall’s expanse between the 5 and 405 interstate freeways, the crowd was light on Dec. 22.
For 28-year-old Cynthia Huelitl, who works in the center, conditions were ideal for making a quick stop at the mall’s Target to meet her Christmas shopping needs.
Frank Gourmet Hot Dogs wins $50,000 grand prize

BUFFALO, N.Y. Barclays US Consumer Bank named a local business as the winner of its Small Business Big Wins promotion.
Frank Gourmet Hot Dogs is the recipient of a $50,000 grand prize.
The Buffalo restaurant is known for its custom brand of signature hot dogs.
Nearly 3,000 small businesses nationwide shared their stories of determination, perseverance through essays and photos. The top 10 were selected and showcased online, followed by a voting period that took place from December 4-14.
