Date Time Police charge man after firearms, ammunition seized near Gunnedah A man has been charged with firearm offences after police seized three firearms, firearm parts and ammunition from a property near Gunnedah. Shortly after 12am yesterday (Wednesday 30 June 2021), officers attached to Oxley Police District responded to reports of gunshots fired at a home on Darby Road, Spring Ridge, approximately 65km south of Gunnedah. Police attended and spoke with the occupant of the home. Entry was forced to a bedroom where a man, aged 31, was arrested without incident. A crime scene was established after police observed a firearm and property believed to be the proceeds of crime in the room.

20:03 EDT, 28 April 2021 A man has been charged after allegedly attempting to groom a person he believed to be a 13-year-old girl online, but who turned out to be an undercover police officer.  The 50-year-old man was arrested by detectives at his residence in Gunnedah, New South Wales about 8.30am on Wednesday.  The man believed he was speaking with a 13-year-old girl, had sexually explicit conversations about acts he wished to perform on the child and sent sexually explicit material, police will allege in court.  NSW Police regularly conduct undercover operations to catch those who attempt to exploit children (stock image)

A man has been charged after he allegedly had sexually explicit conversations with what he believed to be a 13-year-old girl. Detectives from the Child Abuse and Sex Crime Squad’s Child Exploitation Internet Unit say they began engaging online with the man earlier this month. Police will allege in court that the man engaged in sexually explicit conversations about acts he wished to perform on the child and sent sexually explicit material. Strike Force Trawler detectives arrested a 50-year-old man at a home at Gunnedah about 8.30am yesterday. A search warrant was subsequently executed, where detectives seized a mobile phone.

About 11.30pm on Saturday 27 February 2021, a 29-year-old man attended a hotel on Barber Street, Gunnedah, when he was approached by four males. During an altercation, the group assaulted the man, punching and kicking him. He was taken to Gunnedah Hospital for treatment to facial injuries. Officers attached to Oxley Police District attended and commenced an investigation.

Date Time Police seek information over theft of war and police medals at Gunnedah Police are appealing for public assistance following a break-in at a property in Gunnedah in recent days. About 9am on Thursday (10 December 2020), officers from Oxley Police District received reports of a vehicle submerged in the Namoi River, in an isolated area behind a factory on Boggabri Rd. Police located the vehicle, a Mitsubishi Triton utility, and investigations revealed it was registered to a man who lived on Oxley Way, Gunnedah. Officers attended the property and established the residence had been the subject of a break and enter.
