Forty-four businesses registered to compete in four categories for the most loved windows this holiday season: Local independent retailers (Mom & Pops), National Chains, Restaurant / Deli and Non Retail in the Westport Downtown Merchants Assocation and the Westport-Weston Chamber of Commerce Holiday Window Decorating Contest for 2020. The annual event was townwide. Residents and shoppers were the judges and cast their votes online via mobile device at the Chamber of Commerce’s website: www.westportwestonchamber.com/holidaywindow. The winners were:
New COVID-19 cases were confirmed in the Westport Public School District, officials announced.
Schools Superintendent Thomas Scarice announced on Monday night, Dec. 14 that two new cases in the district, one each at Bedford Middle School and Coleytown Elementary School.
During the pandemic, Westport has been hit particularly hard, with cases quickly spreading, though the district has been able to keep buildings open in many cases.
“Both cases involved individuals already quarantining based on exposures outside of school,” Scarice said. “In our efforts to remain transparent with reports of positive COVID-19 cases associated with our schools, we will continue to provide these updates as information is confirmed.”
