David McCann believes that the uncovering of bodies at the sites of the former Marieval, Brandon and Kamloops Indian residential schools, in Saskatchewan, Manitoba and British Columbia, respectively, will continue to play out not just at residential school sites, but also on the grounds of other former church-led institutions, including one St. Joseph’s Training School for Boys in Alfred, Ont., near Ottawa. It’s McCann’s hope that investigations into residential school deaths will expand to include those who “disappeared” from St. Joseph’s and a similar reform school, St. John’s, in Toronto and Uxbridge.
