NASCAR goes ten of eleven; INDYCAR future and present seen at Texas
(NASCAR) Kyle Bush grabbed the lead on the final restart at Kansas Speedway and held on for the last ten laps to become the tenth winner in eleven NASCAR Cup races this year. And he did it on his birthday, the second time in his career he has celebrated a birthday with a Cup win. Only Cale Yarborough in NASCAR history also has done that twice.

Most of Tony Stewart’s fame came during 22 years in stock cars, but he actually began winning almost immediately as an Indiana pre-teen in go-karts and quarter-midgets.
The first of Stewart s 49 Cup victories came in just his 25th start, among the quickest by a NASCAR rookie in recent history. It came on September 11, 1999, at the ¾-mile Richmond Raceway
Later in the fall, Stewart won back-to-back at Phoenix and Homestead to set a record for rookie victories.
NASCAR s Most Memorable Moments at Talladega Superspeedway
We can probably all agree on number one but individual mileage will vary on the rest. Apr 22, 2021 RacingOneGetty Images
NASCAR founder Bill France conceived Talladega Superspeedway originally named Alabama International Motor Speedway as the world’s largest and fastest oval and succeeded on both fronts. Following the success of Daytona International Speedway, which opened in 1959, France looked to replicate the model further inland and purchased 2,000 acres near what was once the Anniston Air Force Base.
NASCAR broke ground in 1968 and built a venue that was larger than Daytona at 2.66-miles instead of 2.5 and had greater banking at 33 degrees instead of 31. Additionally, the start-finish line was painted at the entrance to Turn 1 to provide a unique experience.
