Walmart temporarily closed its Neighborhood Market in Garland on Friday at 2 p.m. to allow professional cleaners to come in and “thoroughly clean and sanitize the building” because of undisclosed COVID-19 issues.
Employees will be allowed back into the store at 1855 S. Garland Ave. on Saturday to restock shelves and prepare to reopen at 7 a.m. Sunday.
Experts warn that stores and shopping centers are again facing illness breakouts within their employee ranks as the winter surge in coronavirus cases is expected to get worse even as the first round of vaccinations is being distributed and administered.
