Available Hy-Vee appointments filled up within about an hour of opening across the state on Monday morning, company spokesperson Christina Gayman said. Carroll County Public Health Director Nicole Schwering wrote in an email that their 100 doses of the single-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine were snatched up just as quickly. By the afternoon, half of their 300 first-dose shots of Moderna were likewise accounted for, she said.
