Credit Karma to put East Coast headquarters in Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) Personal finance technology company Credit Karma will create 600 new jobs in North Carolina’s largest city by putting its East Coast headquarters in Charlotte, the company announced on Tuesday.
Credit Karma, which is best known for offering free credit scores, already has an employment presence in Charlotte. It now plans to invest over $13 million to create an engineering hub there, Gov. Roy Cooper’s office said in a news release.
Salaries for the new positions, which include analysts, software engineers and management, will average $156,600 annually, or more than twice the Mecklenburg County average wage, the release said.

CONCORD, NC (News Release) Carolina FinTech Hub’s Youth Technology Apprenticeship Camp (YTAC) program will kick off Motor Mania, a brand-new event from the 600 Festival, the nonprofit organization behind the annual Circle K Speed Street festival. The gaming tournament, presented by Circle K, invites high school seniors from Mecklenburg, Iredell and Cabarrus Counties to compete against each other for a chance to win $2,000 in scholarship dollars ($1,000 to each winning team member), as well as an opportunity to compete against the pros.
