Eleven migrants reportedly drowned off Libya on Sunday. Separately, UNICEF warned of the dire situation of tens of thousands of migrant and refugee children in Libya. According to the International Organization for Migration (IOM), more than 600 migrants who tried to reach Europe by boat were returned to Libya by Libyan naval forces on Friday (April 30) and Saturday (May 1). Citing a statement by Libya s navy, news agency AFP reported that the returnees consisted of three groups that were intercepted at sea by Libyan coast guard and navy officials. Two groups were returned on Friday and one on Saturday.
