Green Party of Connecticut are disappointed but not surprised by the lackluster, unimaginative, business-as-usual tone of Governor Lamont s proposed budget. Imagination is fostered by freedom, and any plan for Connecticut s future that prioritizes keeping rich people safe from paying their fair share of taxes will begin its political life bound hand and foot to the status quo.

Anne Feeney, a folk singer who collaborated with Pete Seeger, John Prine and Peter, Paul and Mary and an impassioned activist who fought for workers’ and women’s rights, died Wednesday in Pittsburgh of COVID-19 complications. She was 69.
“It is with a very heavy heart that we must announce the passing of our courageous, brilliant, beautiful mother,” her daughter, Amy Sue Berlin, wrote on Facebook. “We were very lucky that she fought hard enough to open up her eyes and give us a couple days to be with her before she finally decided it was time to let go.”

In these days of worry about the COVID virus, we turn to our health care institutions for help. For many, the access to health care is not an easy path.
We are burdened with a system that relies on a complicated patchwork of programs both public and private. It’s a difficult system to navigate.
We see that at a time where everyone needs vaccinations, our system is not so good at reaching everyone in a organized way. The public health workers just like the hospital workers are stretched to the limit.
