Ryanair announces two last-minute rescue flights for eligible Irish citizens stranded in the UK on Christmas Eve

Flights from Manchester and London will arrive in Dublin Airport later today.
For the third day in a row, Ryanair has announced that it has scheduled rescue flights for eligible Irish citizens currently stranded in the United Kingdom.

A Ryanair flight from Manchester Airport to Dublin will depart at 2.50pm on Thursday (24 December), while a flight from London Stansted will depart for Dublin at 5.15pm.
All seats on both flights are priced at €95 one way.

The flights will depart from London and Manchester tonight.
Ryanair has announced details of two additional rescue flights for eligible Irish citizens currently stranded in the United Kingdom.

Having operated a flight from London Stansted to Dublin on Tuesday, the airline will operate another flight from London Stansted to Dublin, as well as one from Manchester to Dublin, on Wednesday night (23 December).
The flight from Manchester Airport will depart at 10pm and the flight from London Stansted will depart at 10.30pm.
As was the case yesterday, all seats on both flights are priced at €95 one way.

Ryanair is working with the Irish Government to repatriate Irish citizens stuck in Great Britain following this week’s new travel ban. The airline has so far scheduled two flights, setting passengers back €95 ($115) each.

On the weekend, many countries began restricting travel from the United Kingdom after it became apparent that a new strain of the COVID-19 virus spread much faster in the southeast of England. However, the action has disrupted many Christmas plans, in addition to stranding, many who had been hoping to travel for work or to visit friends and family.

A NI Executive meeting is under way to consider a paper on whether to impose a travel ban from GB.
Earlier, the deputy first minister said the executive must meet to agree a ban as we are facing a grave situation .
The health minister took advice from the Attorney General and set out that in a paper to the executive.
It is understood Robin Swann has recommended issuing guidance advising against non-essential travel between NI and GB, and NI and the Irish Republic.
The minister has also advised that people arriving into Northern Ireland should self-isolate for 10 days.
