The Etowah Youth Orchestras will venture into more modern sounds than usual at 7 p.m. in the Spring of Dreams Rock & Roll Concert at the Mort Glosser Amphitheatre.
The combined Etowah Youth Symphony and Youth Philharmonic orchestras, the Etowah String Sinfonia and Heard Immunity will tackle offerings from The Beatles, Bon Jovi, Peter Gabriel, The Go-Gos, Journey, Lady Gaga, Boz Skaggs and Bruce Springsteen, among others. Heard Immunity is the EYO s rock band unit, made up according to Musical Director Mike Gagliardo of current and former EYO members who audition for membership to display their skills on vocals, guitars, keyboards and drums.

The Etowah Youth Orchestras will hold auditions for the 2021-22 season Tuesday through Thursday, according to a press release.
The EYO will hold auditions for open spots in all of its after-school ensembles, including the Etowah Youth Symphony Orchestra, the Etowah Youth Philharmonic Orchestra and the Etowah String Sinfonia.
According to the release, audition times will be available each day from 9 a.m. to noon, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Auditions will be held at the Music Center at Temple Beth Israel at 761 Chestnut St. in Gadsden.
The Etowah Youth Symphony Orchestra is an advanced-level full orchestra with strings, woodwinds, brass and percussion. The EYSO performs standard orchestral repertoire from various genres, including concert, stage and screen.
