Mudflow near flank of Mt. Shasta covers road northeast of McCloud

A mudslide has covered part of Pilgrim Creek Road east of McCloud as Mud Creek overflows with mud and debris, the Shasta-Trinity National Forest warned Saturday.
Mud Creek runs from the southeastern flank of Mt. Shasta and the mudflow could get worse due to the hot weather.
In 2014, mudslides on that side of the volcano were blamed on glacial melting. Mud Creek is fed by both glaciers and springs. With the higher temperatures expected over the weekend, mudflows may continue to increase, forest officials said on Facebook.

Dallas police shot and killed a man they say used a replica firearm to attempt multiple robberies and a carjacking Monday afternoon.
Police identified the man as 28-year-old Edgar Luis Tirado.
At around 2:32 p.m., there was an aggravated robbery at the Fiesta Supermarket at 8060 Spring Valley Road where police say the man stole items and pointed his gun at store employees before fleeing on foot, police said.

The Deep South always has this fluctuating weather during the winter as one day it is very cold and clear, but then like today, it is rainy with all outdoor surfaces coated in a thin sheen of moisture that makes for a walking challenge on most concrete surfaces. As the deer season is winding down at the end of the month, itâs been some type of hunt since October for our family and for their friends. I was thinking about several weeks of inactivity there, but I noticed new turkey calls on the counter that feature family membersâ photos in the workmanship of the wooden and glass calls. So that quiet reading time at the cabin will actually be filled with these eerie, screeching sounds that are supposed to lure turkeys. For the unpracticed, it is almost like that irritating scratch of a nail on a chalkboard that makes me cringe. So I will just get out those puffy, foam earplugs and smile like thereâs nothing making racket during the last week of January
