NORWEGIAN AMERICAN LATEST SAFETY NET TO GET A NEW NAME: Norwegian American Hospital is the latest Chicago safety net to adopt a new name as the hospital industry evolves beyond inpatient care. The 200-bed hospital will be renamed Humboldt Park Health to better reflect the majority Puerto Rican and Mexican community it serves and will focus on building relationships beyond the hospital walls.
The rebranding effort follows last month’s renaming of safety net Sinai Health System to Sinai Chicago, which has launched a $40 million outpatient center across the street from Mount Sinai Hospital. FRANKLIN DAVID CHRISTIAN SHULER, M.D., PhD., C.I.M.E. lost his four year battle with HLH, a rare autoimmune disease on January 5, 2021 at Cabell Hospital, Huntington, WV. He was born January 14, 1967 in Steubenville, OH.
He was a 1985 graduate of Weir High School, Weirton, WV where he made many lifetime friends who stood by him and with him, wearing their “Fight for Frank” t-shirts in support of him all around the world.
He was a 1989 PreMed/Biology graduate of Bethany College in Bethany, WV.
Frank was the first student to graduate from WVU, Morgantown, WV with a MD/PhD with honors in 1996. He did his residency at UPMC, Pittsburgh, PA in Orthopaedic Trauma surgery.

An invention developed by a researcher from The University of Western Australia that can speed up the regeneration of bone and tissue in patients after dental procedures will soon be rolled out to dental patients across the United States.
The intervention, named Striate+, is an artificial structure that can be implanted into the body for tissue to grow on to repair damage. It has been commercialised by Orthocell – a Perth-based regenerative medical company that develops products for the repair of soft tissue injuries.
Striate+ can be used in procedures such as dental bone defect repair and tissue augmentation around dental implants.
