Journey fans, book your calendars! Resurrection, the Journey tribute band, is coming to the Icehouse Amphitheater. The concert is Friday, October 15 from 6-10 p.m. Tickets are $24, but Resurrection has routinely sold out in past years, so you are encouraged to get tickets early.
Legendary band Earth, Wind & Fire is coming to the Township Auditorium in October! Tickets go on sale Friday, June 11, starting at 10 a.m. on ticketmaster.com. Prices range from $49.50-$175. The show kicks off on October 9. You and the family can enjoy some of the band’s biggest hits like “September,” “Shining Star” and “Boogie Wonderland.”

The Harlem Globetrotters are bringing their talents to the Midlands in a show called the “Spread Game Tour” on August 5. The show is described as part streetball from the players who defined it, and part interactive family entertainment. The new tour is promised to show off the best of the Globetrotters’ talent and game. Tickets go on sale at ticketmaster.com this Friday at 10 a.m.

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– In our look at Local Living The City of Columbia’s Youth Soccer league has kicked off registration.
Children ages 3 to 12 can register online or at the City’s Parks and Recreation office on Parkside Drive.
The registration fee is $25 per person and the season begins in September.
The deadline to sign up is August 20, 2021. Register online at https://www.columbiasc.gov/
Now through the end of the month all pet adoptions are $10.
If you are interested in adopting you can visit the Columbia Animal Shelter at 127 Humane Lane.

Some big changes are coming to the Riverbanks Zoo! The zoo’s Aquarium-Reptile Complex will get a major upgrade. The zoo will transform the current complex into the The Darnall W. and Susan F. Boyd Foundation Aquarium & Reptile Conservation Center. It is expected to open in the summer of 2022. The new complex will include coral colonies and a special section with plant and animal species. The current center will close in august for the start of construction.

For some Midlands parents, this school year will bring the first time your child heads to class. EdVenture Children’s Museum is hosting “Countdown to Kindergarten” to help your little student get ready for school. It will take place August 6 from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. The event is free and open to the public, but you do need to make advanced reservations online.
