UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. Six incumbent trustees and five new members were elected or appointed to serve on the Penn State Board of Trustees today (May 7).
University alumni elected Alvin de Levie and Steve Wagman as alumni trustees, and re-elected incumbent Brandon Short. Delegates of agricultural societies elected Donald Cairns and re-elected incumbent Chris Hoffman.
Robert Fenza and Mary Lee Schneider were re-elected as trustees representing business and industry. Julie Anna Potts was re-elected as an at-large trustee, while Nicholas Rowland was elected as the board’s academic trustee.
It was the summer of 2020, and COVID-19 had pulled back the curtain on historic inadequacies in the American health care system too little personal protective equipment, an unreliable drug supply chain, rampant health inequities, and a lack of coordination between the government, public health officials, and health care providers and facilities.

OPELOUSAS, La (press release) – Kenneth J. Cochran, DSc, RN, FACHE, President & CEO, Opelousas General Health System, has been elected to the Council of Regents, the legislative body of the American College of Healthcare Executives. The Council of Regents serves as the vital link between ACHE and members by approving governance and membership regulations as well as promoting ACHE programs, services and activities within their respective areas.
Dr. Cochran will take office March 20, 2021, prior to ACHE’s 64th Congress on Healthcare Leadership. As a Regent, he will represent ACHE’s membership throughout Louisiana.
He has served as President & CEO of Opelousas General Health System since July 1, 2015
