FSU Presidential Search Committee selects first-round candidates

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) â Florida State Universityâs Presidential Search Advisory Committee will conduct the first round of interviews with nine candidates for university president Friday, May 14, and Saturday, May 15.
The committee selected the following candidates for first-round interviews:
Robert A. Blouin: Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost, University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill
David K. Coburn: Vice President and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics, Florida State University
Richard M. Corcoran: Florida Education Commissioner, former Florida House Speaker
Randall W. Hanna: Dean and CEO, Florida State University, Panama City campus; Dean, College of Applied Sciences

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - The LSU Presidential Search Committee has announced the list of 23 candidates who are seeking to become the next president of the university.
However, the committee announced Wednesday it narrowed down the list of candidates to eight out the 23 candidates listed
(see full list below).
On Monday, April 26 and Tuesday, April 27, committee members will begin interviewing candidates Laurence Alexander, Ron Clark, Jay Dardenne, Kelvin Droegemeier, Jim Henderson, Rustin Moore, Mary Ann Rankin, and Jeff Talley next week.
The Presidential Search Committee met April 21, per the schedule established in their April 10 meeting, and finalized the list of candidates that will be interviewed for the job of LSU s president.Â
Out of the 23 applicants presented to the committee, eight were chosen to move forward to the interview stage.Â
Following is the list of candidates who were up for consideration:
Laurence Alexander, J.D., Ph.D. Professor and Chancellor University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff
James Anderson, Ph.D. Former Deputy Under Secretary of Defense, Office of the Secretary of Defense U.S. Department of Defense
David Blackwell, Ph.D. Professor and Outgoing Provost, University of Kentucky

Two graduated from the University of New Orleans, two from LSU. Most claim some connection to Louisiana. The LSU Presidential Search Committee plans to interview all eight candidates on Monday and Tuesday, then meet on April 30 to decide which finalists to recommend to the LSU Board of Supervisors. The 16 supervisors have final say on who will be president of the LSU system and chancellor of the flagship Baton Rouge campus.
