Oxfam Australia to move to new home
Oxfam Australia is excited to announce it is moving to a new home in West Melbourne.
Chief Executive Lyn Morgain said the move to 355-358 William Street would represent an exciting new chapter in the Oxfam Australia story.
“While we are leaving behind 14 years of great memories of our green building in Carlton, now is a time for renewal,” Ms Morgain said.
“Following significant changes to our organisation – as well as to the culture of work due to COVID-19 – it makes sense that our new work home supports our new needs. We are confident this two-storey premises will do just that, and we will ensure we put our stamp on it, as we have our Leicester Street building.”

Broadly, capitalism refers to an economic and political system in which industry – the means of production – is controlled by private owners for profit, rather than by the state, or the people. What the dictionary doesn’t note, however, is that at the rotten core of capitalism lies exploitation and inequality. Anti-capitalism is essential not just for arresting the destruction of our planet but also in terms of addressing the systemic inequalities and exploitations that plague our society. Anti-capitalism must, therefore, be one of the pillars of the climate movement and anti-capitalist behaviour must form the basis of any approach to climate justice.
