Nasir meets missing persons relatives at sit-in - Pakistan

He expressed solidarity with the members the aggrieved families. The minister also spoke to Allama Ahmad Iqbal Rizvi, Allama Haider Abbas, Allama Mubashir Hassan, Nasir Hussain Shirazi, Allama Sadiq Jafari and Allama Aqeel Moosa and other leaders of the Joint Action Committee at the sit-in venue.

PPP seeks MWM support for NA-249 by-election

Karachi April 10, 2021 The Pakistan Peoples Party has sought support from the Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen for a by-election in Karachi’s National Assembly constituency NA-249, said a press release issued by the MWM on Friday. In this connection, PPP leaders Waqar Mehdi and Qadir Khan Mandokhel visited the MWM office, where they called on Allama Sadiq Jafari, Allama Mubashir Hassan, Maulana Ali Anwar Jafari and Mir Taqi Zafar. Mehdi said that the PDM was not an electoral alliance; therefore, PPP candidate Qadir Khan Mandokhel was contesting the by- election. He said that former MNA from NA-249 Faisal Vawda had not spent funds for the betterment of the constituency. He said people should hold him accountable “for the millions of rupees he got but not spent for the purpose”.

Countrywide sit-ins to be staged today for recovery of Shia missing persons

Karachi April 4, 2021 As part of its strategy to put pressure on the government and the law enforcement agencies to recover missing persons from the Shia community, the Joint Action Committee for Shia Missing Persons has announced it will stage sit-ins across the country today. The announcement was made on Saturday by leaders of the action committee on the second day of an ongoing sit-in protest in front of the Mazar-e-Quaid. The Joint Action Committee, a joint platform of representative organisations of the Shia community, had given an ultimatum to the government to produce all missing persons in court by March 31. “After receiving no positive response from the government, the committee announced the start of a protest from April 2,” said the sit-in organisers.
