Starting this week, Comelec will implement a new schedule for voter registration. Beginning today, the new schedule for accepting applicants for voter registration is as follows:
Tuesday till Saturday, 8:00 a.m. till 5:00 p.m.
Note: Monday is disinfection day.
The new schedule is intended to accommodate those who might not be able to go to the local Comelec office on a weekday. I’m hoping this helps increase the number of applicants.
There are three ways to register as a voter:
Go online, fill up the form, and set an appointment
This is the more popular option to do if you plan to register in Metro Manila, Cebu, and other highly populated area. You click this link:

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) is eyeing satellite registration activities to boost the number of voter registration applicants for the May 2022 national and local polls.

By this time, you’ve probably already done your new year’s resolution. Eat less, exercise more, lose weight, etc. By now, unfortunately many will already have broken their new year’s resolution. Promising to start again next year. It seems it’s a cycle, and we just promise to do the same thing, year after year. Some with success, some, well, they’ll try again the year after.
However, one new year’s resolution which we can easily do is register as a voter. Every day, I’m asked about how to register as a voter by people who want to have a louder voice in our democracy. Promising to register as a voter is easy, doable, and can be done while you’re doing other activities, like watching the latest shows and movies on Netflix. It’s always a pleasure explaining the process to people who want to register as voters.
