With heavy hearts and utter sadness we regret to announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother and “Baba” Sylvia on Tuesday, May 18th, 2021, with family by her side. She was born on November 5, 1936 in Minnedosa, Manitoba. She spent several years in the hospitality industry as a waitress for the Royal Edward Hotel. Sylvia later became a Dietary Aid at Hogarth Westmount Hospital up until her retirement at 65. Sylvia was loved and highly respected by her colleagues as well as the patients. She had an amazing way of making people laugh and brightening their day. Our mother was an avid cook and enjoyed entertaining friends and family, which always kept them coming back for more. As a very devoted Catholic, she was an active and honorary member of the Catholic Women’s League via St. Patrick s Cathedral. She enjoyed spending time with her soul mate of 35 years Everett Barrett including travel, dancing and casino fun. Sylvia with be remembered for her spunkiness and infectious

Robert Michael ( Bob ) Carroll - Obituary - Thunder Bay

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Robert Michael (“Bob”) Carroll announces his peaceful passing on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2021 at the age of 91, at Hogarth Riverview Manor, in the loving arms of his family. He is survived by his wife Helen (married 67 years); son, Danny (Laura) Carroll of Winnipeg, and their children Lindsay (Nathan Rochford), Hilary and Dora Carroll (Ryan Connor); daughter Norine Carroll and her children Daniel and Kathleen Johansen; daughter Alison Carroll (Paul Maydo) and her children Mackinley, Abbey and Sophie Steinhoff; and siblings Theresa Stolz of Thunder Bay; and Patricia Austin (George Newton) of Winnipeg.

It is with deep sorrow that the family of Tilde Racco announces her passing on April 1, 2021, at St. Joseph s Hospital, surrounded by family. Born in Gioiosa Marina, Italy on February 3, 1933, Tilde grew up in Saderno Marina, Italy. Tilde married Rocco Racco in 1966 and immigrated to Canada shortly thereafter to join him and his family. In February, 1968, she and Rocco welcomed their only son Mario. When Rocco passed away suddenly in 1971, Tilde worked hard to support herself and Mario. She worked as a baker for many years at the Royal Edward Hotel and Palma’s Pastries. Tilde loved to be surrounded by family and enjoyed cooking for them when she was able. Even unexpected company would soon find a buffet set out before them. Tilde loved to work in the garden and had a real green thumb. Even when she moved into an apartment, to continued to plant in pots.
