11 COVID-19 Deaths on Friday (30); fatalities rise to 678

Share: COLOMBO (News 1st): The Director-General of Health Services confirmed that ELEVEN (11) COVID-19 deaths were reported in the country on Friday (Apr. 30), raising Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 death toll to 678. The details of the deceased are as follows: 01. A 79-year-old female from Piliyandala. She died on 30.04.2021 on admission to a private hospital in Colombo. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia. 02. A 76-year-old male from Dehiattakandiya. He died on 30.04.2021 while receiving treatment at Polonnaruwa General Hospital. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia and Severe Heart Failure. 3. A 67-year-old female from Matale. She died on 29.04.2021 while receiving treatment at Matale District General Hospital. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid Pulmonary Syndrome.

Posted on April 25th, 2021 Courtesy Adaderana The Director General of Health Services today confirmed two more Covid-19 related deaths in the country moving the death toll so far to 644. One of the victims is a 79-year-old female from Kelaniya who had been transferred from Teldeniya Base Hospital to Neville Fernando Teaching Hospital (NFTH) after testing positive for Covid-19. She had passed away on April 25. The cause of death is cited as cardiac and raspatory failure caused by Covdi-19 pneumonia. The other patient is a 73-year-old male from Polonnaruwa. He had been transferred from Polonnaruwa District Hospital to Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital after being identified as Covid-19 positive and had passed away on April 25 due to Covid-19 pneumonia.  

02 COVID-19 Deaths on Monday (19); fatalities rise to 620

Share: COLOMBO (News 1st): The Director-General of Health Services confirmed that TWO (02) COVID-19 deaths were reported in the country on Monday (Apr. 19), raising Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 death toll to 620. The details of the deceased are as follows: 01. A 58-year-old female from Mahawa. She was diagnosed as infected with the COVID-19 virus while receiving treatment at Galgamuwa District Hospital and transferred to Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital, where she died on 17.04.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as Severe Acute Respiratory Disease Syndrome due to Covid pneumonia. 02. An 84-year-old male from Marassana. He was diagnosed as infected with COVID-19 virus while receiving treatment at Kandy National Hospital and transferred to Theldeniya Base Hospital, where he died on 19.04.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as Severe Covid pneumonia in the background of Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension, Dyslipidaemia, and Heart Failure.
