It appears that Tesla may be working on some parts that would make the Model Y a true crossover with slight off-roading capabilities. This was hinted at recently by a sighting of a rather uniquely set-up Model Y driving near the Fremont Factory, which seemed to have been fitted with a lift kit and some all-terrain tires.

The Tesla Model S and Model X are long overdue for a substantial update, with the former receiving a minor facelift in 2016, and the latter remaining largely unchanged visually since its debut in 2015. There have been many rumors about a possible upcoming refresh for these vehicles as of recent, and these photos seem to fan the flame.
The photos, posted by Twitter user Sawyer Merritt, come from a drone flyover from YouTuber Gabeincal of Tesla’s Fremont factory. They depict 3 covered vehicles on trailers in a line, and in some closeup shots, they seems to resemble the silhouettes of the S and X with slightly sharper edges.
