Zoar Village Council votes 5-1 to evict fire department

ZOAR A five-member majority of Zoar Village Council has voted to evict the fire department from the fire station.
The lone "no" vote came from Councilwoman Judy Meiser, mother of Charles R. Meiser, chief of the Zoar Volunteer Fire Department, Inc.
Voting in favor of eviction were council members Gayle Potelicki, Joe Potelicki, Tom Klingaman, David Irwin and Mark Gaynor. 
They took action at a special meeting held Friday.
It was the first council meeting for Gaynor since he was chosen to fulfill the remainder of the council term held by Hans Fischer, who died March 30. Mayor Scott Gordon administered the oath of office to Gaynor. The term of office expires Dec. 31, 2023.
