SPRINGFIELD — Even though the coronavirus pandemic has made celebrating difficult this year, members of YSET Academy have been delivering more than 1,100 toys to children around the city to brighten their Christmas.
Youth Social Educational Training Inc. since 2003 has provided after school activities, job training and social services for inner-city youth. Executive Director Paula Porter, PhD. said the academy, at 57 School St., is committed to helping children and teens.
“We meet with them on Wednesday evenings. The African Diaspora Mental Health Association, the therapists from there come every Wednesday to meet with the youth here in the building,” Porter said.
