Four-ex-ee is not the correct pronunciation.
Jeep surprised the world earlier this year by releasing the first plug-in hybrid Wrangler. Dubbed the 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe Hybrid, this new variant just entered production and is currently the most powerful Wrangler (until the Hemi 392 model arrives). The Wrangler Hybrid joins two other 4xe models, the Compass and Renegade, which were revealed in Europe earlier this year.
During the launch of those models, Jeep specified how to pronounce the name 4xe. Reading it like a normal car, it would be tempting to pronounce it as "four-ex-ee." As it turns out, the correct pronunciation is "four-by-ee," just as 4x4 is pronounced "four-by-four." Don't believe us? Just check out this introduction video from Jeep back in earlier September.
