As the school year has began to wind down, organizations like the YMCA are preparing for summer programs to start up.
"Our summer programs start pretty much immediately as school lets out,” said Christin King, with the Greater OKC YMCA. “We already have registration up and we are enrolling a lot of students."
Announced this week, the YMCA has also received aid in funding from the state Department of Education which means they're expecting even more kids.
"It’s allowing to increase our reach and reach more kids,” said King. “A lot of camps are $300 to $500 and the YMCA is able to give them more affordable options."
