NEW YORK —Luke Voit has one last hurdle to jump before returning to the Yankees.
Voit will start his rehab assignment for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in Syracuse vs. the Mets’ affiliate on Tuesday.
Introducing Yankees Insider:
Voit hasn’t played this season as he nurses his left knee since surgery to repair his meniscus. Last week, Voit said the Yankees were thinking about sending Voit to Double-A Somerset, their new affiliate, for his rehab. It’s curious that they would send him five hours away rather than the short trip to Somerset. When asked about the switch Tuesday, Boone didn’t elborate.
