From 12:12 am WAT on Wednesday, March 10, through dawn, tech Twitter in major African cities bubbled into a broth of inspirational quotes and hot takes. âFlutterwaveâ was a trending topic in Nigeria with over 10,000 tweets before 10 am.
Much of that attention was focused on Olugbenga Agboola, the fintech startupâs CEO, and his team of 300+ staff members spread across their headquarters in San Francisco and Lagos.
Agboola started Flutterwave with Iyinoluwa Aboyeji in 2016. Less than five years later, Agboola – the former PayPal engineer and Google product manager – has masterminded an African startupâs fastest-ever rise to unicorn status.
