HYAK, Wash. -- All of the three major mountain passes in the Cascades reopened Monday after the threat of an avalanche prompted officials to close the routes for over 12 hours following more snow in the region.
I-90 through Snoqualmie Pass reopened at noon while White Pass along US-12 reopened at 10 a.m. with Traction Tires Advised, according to WSDOT officials.
Officials reopened Stevens Pass shortly before 2 p.m. but motorists were required to use chains on their vehicles, according to a tweet from the state Department of Transportation.
