Evan bought 20 of them for 12, and they will really make a difference in alzheimers research. All right. Making a difference is the snow heading our way. In fact, its changing our schedule for wake up washington oned weekend. Well be starting bright and early at 6 00 a. M. Heres miri to tell us more about the reasons wh hey, good afternoon, everyone. Were already starting to see it push into our southernmost area around spotsylvania and fredricksburg, you all are starting to get some snow and a little rain snow mix, although over here it looks like mostly snow. Where you see that purple and pinkish color, thats the representation of where we have a rain snow mix and the further east you go around port royal, its still all rain right now. Fredricksburg getting a mix of rain and snow here. The next stop for this is going to be stafford, quantico, dale city and then it will spread into la plata and waldorf. I think by 3 00 you should see it there. The rain snow mix should make its way to the d. C. Area, im going to go with between 5 00 and seesk p. M. How much snow are we going to get when all is said and done . We start with a rain snow mix and all snow after midnight. From midnight to 8 00 p. M. Saturday is when we will get the most snow to make its way in. One to three inches will be possible, isolated four inches in a few spots. So a little more than 2 1 2 inches in andrews 2. 9 inches. Fredricksburg because thats one of the places where its starting early, that could be one of those odd spots where you do get up to four inches there. And then 3. 2 inches possible in leesburg just to name a few spots. Let me show you how this moves in for us. So this is in the next hour at 1 00 p. M. We can see that quickly advancing toward the alexandria area and dunkirk, and then by 5 00 and 6 00 this evening, youll see la plata then has mostly snow and the rain snow mix has moved into the alexandria and d. C. Area. As we advance the clock a little bit more, youll see by 9 00 tonight were still dealing with that mixture, and then after midnight is when we begin to see that widespread snow make its way across the area. Saturday at 8 00 in the morning, you wake up, look out the window, peek out the door its going to look like a Winter Wonderland out there with light to moderate snow falling across the area. Well continue to see that throughout the day on saturday. Here i stop the clock at 4 30 p. M. Once again. You can still see some light to moderate snow showers going on. Im going to to point out something. Because well have ground temperatures and air temperatures that will be above freezing for most of this event, youre going to get the peak of it early saturday morning. By saturday afternoon as those temperatures come above freeze, its going to be a little bit harder for that snow to stick on the ground. You could still run into some slushy spots, but for the most part youre going to see more accumulation on your grass, on trees, on the roof. Its going to look really pretty out there as that snow begins to accumulate. So lets go back to later on saturday night. 10 00 p. M. Most of the snow has shifted over toward the east. There are a few stubborn little flakes that still will be lingering around. So we will be under a Winter Weather advisory from midnight tonight lasting until 4 00 p. M. Tomorrow. The National Weather service has issued that. Its going to go from fredricksburg all the way up through gaithersburg and baltimore, and that includes manassas and washington d. C. As well. Hazardous weather outlook going to go into effect around the fredrick area, also around culpepper. But these are the areas where were anticipating getting the most of the snow. So lets put it all in a nutshell for this. By friday at 6 00 p. M. Im anticipating light showers and snow mixing in together, and then all snow after midnight. Saturday look for snow all day. It should end for us around 8 00 p. M. And itll start to taper off by 4 00 p. M. , and then it should be out of here by 8 00. Look for light to moderate snow. Wouldnt rule out one or two heavier bands. One to three inches possible and isolated four inches. Shouldnt impact your travel plans too much. But look out for some slushy spots on the road.
