So 55 today. 60 degrees by tomorrow. Instead yesterday later on tonight into sunday morning. So about a 40 chance for the morning to see some rainfall, but by the afternoon and evening it ramps up to 70 . Early sunday were looking at 90 chance. Then it drops by sunday afternoon to salvage at least some of the weekend. So dry to start. And then dry to end the weekend. But in between were watching this moisture off to the west that will head in our direction hour by hour by lunch time were looking at some of the scattered showers especially moving in from west to east across the area and then you can see we continue that action into this evening and then during the overnight some moderate to heavy rainfall by 4 00 a. The penn state Police Department is following the lead of agencies all across the country in the fight against drug abuse and the opioid epidemic. Nine days after gunman killed 17 innocent people in Mass School Shooting teachers are returning to Stoneman Douglas high school. School Officials Say they are taking their time with reopening as teachers and staff receive counseling. Meanwhile Florida Governor rick scott announced 400 fief 50 million in new spend to go add man la tower Law Enforcement officers in every school. He also proposed new measures that would make it more difficult for people with Mental Health issues to get a gun. Well this plan of action is to make massive changes in protecting our schools. Provide significantly more resources for Mental Health, and to to do everything we can to keep guns out of the hands of those dealing with mental problems. New gun control measures are also being discussed on the federal level. The president is set to meet witness nations governors on monday to discuss some of those op shops. Speaking of the president he spoke at the annual conservative Political Action conference and toll conservatives even Second Amendment supporters can get behind steps to fight gun violence. The president is advocating for several new policies after last weeks Deadly Florida shooting. Including expanding background checks and higher age restrictions on gun purchases. All right. Well discuss this because i think it will get a lot of people talking. You go to a hotel. You dont want to be bothered. So you make sure you put the little hanging thing on the do door. Leave me alone. Do not disturb. Apparently at one local one brand. Okay. Its not going to be enough to keep room service out. So one of the largest casinos will begin checking the hotel rooms every 24 hours. Wow. Even if you have that sign hanging on your door. Hmm. Caesars entertainment has become the latest Hospitality Firm to adopt new room check policies after last years las vegas shooting. They say theyre considering giving panic buttons to the employees so they can wickly call for help if they feel they are in danger that things to us this morning s instant reaction poll. We asked, should employees be able to check do not disturb rooms . I think if they have suspicion or cause for concern maybe some activity looks a little questionable out of a room. Right. Otherwise i typically put up the sign if im going to be somewhere for an extended stay and i dont need new towels or something, you know. Right. So, you know, i guess you could stay at a Different Hotel if you dont like that policy. Thats a true statement. Pretty interesting. I did ask on twitter to see what people thought. They say, no, i deserve 40 40 of people say know i deserve the privacy, 38 say yes, i understand the new policies and the need for change especially in light of what happened in las vegas. Absolutely. You kind of have to understand the hotel protecting itself, its brand and so much has changed. So much has changed. I mean, 9 11 really kicked things off n absolutely. Wee see what happens with that. More hotels might jump on that band wagon to try to ensure the safety of its guests. Eagles jason kelce went viral around the world when he donned that mummers suit at the parade and delivered that unforgettable speech but its a different message to local kids that caught our bruce gordons attention only in philly. Hi, im bruce gordon. When Philadelphia Eagles center and super bowl champion jason kelce lit into the birds preseason critics at the big victory parade. No one wanted us. No one liked this team. No analyst like this team to win the super bowl and nobody likes our fans. Punctuating it with a heartfelt but profane bleep. Lots of folks believe kelce had hit all the right notes. Turns out he was just getting started. High School Alma Mater jazz band turn up at central high in north philadelphia there was kelce with his original baritone saxophone jamming with his fellow Cleveland Heights tigers. Kelce you see what a musician as well as an athlete as a teen back in ohio and in between tunes he spoke to that crowd at central about the value of his multiple extra curriculars. Teaches how to work with other people. Teaches you hard work is required if you want to be good at something. I found his message to a few hundred in that High School Auditorium to be just as important, just as moving, as his words to hundreds of thousands on the parkway two weeks earlier. That both music and sports can teach lessons no textbook can match. Kelce in particular reminds us that young people should never be stereo typed, type cast as one thing or another. Hulking athlete who can also play saxophone, sure. The musician who can also bust holes through massive defensive linemen in the biggest of games. No problem. His performance on the parkway that day made him a viral sensation and thats great. I get it. But i just hope as many people get to see his music and his words in the auditorium. Kelce showed an admiral loyalty to his alma mater by showing up, and he showed a genuine interest in being among the students who look up to him and maybe most important of all, kelce showed those who determi determined School Budgets figuring out what money goes where that the stage and the Playing Field can be just as important as the classroom. Think of it. Philadelphia jason kelce renaissance man . Only in philly. Hes an underdog. They gave themselves that title and now someone is trying to steal it . The new york yankees claim to be underdogs despite being one of the best teams in baseball last year. Lauren i met a woman who has a lot of perseverance. Shes humble despite what many people will call a very dull past. Every day thousands of people walk through suburban station. Some may call it a subway stop. But for others a home. With over 6,000 Homeless People in our city, youll find hundreds at suburban station. I was was mentally messed up to even live out here. Meet michelle for almost 30 years she has been battling homelessness while sleeping anywhere she could find at the station. It wasnt until she entered a rigorous 19month Recovery Program when she was able to turn her life around. This is where im at today by accepting they help. You have to want to accept people help to get it. Reporter despite her difficult past michelle decided to come back right here to suburban station this time as a homeless out reach worker trying to impact the lives of others. I can help someone out here like i was. She tries to find a shelter fr others still living at the station. You okay . You looking for shelter. Its one of the reasons her boyfriend is exceptionally pro proud. If it wasnt for her, i really wouldnt have too much to wake up for the next day. But for her daughter sierra the road wasnt always easy she was born when her mom was homeless and was separated from her at birth. Yet she always yearned for that motherly affection. I never gave up on her but i just like i was kind of losing hope. Sometimes id be ready to give up. Like just move on. She kind of give me that energy and that hope that, like, just take time sometimes. Now michelle is taking her time by enjoying open day and thankful that she can help others. Im not stealing. Im taking care of my daughter. Im not sleeping on the streets no more. Im going to be persistent to help the next person. Now meanwhile the city has teamed up with septa to open a homeless out reach and Resource Center at suburban station. Its called the hub of hope and it was officially opened up earlier this year. You know lauren, michelle is actually a fulltime member with the hub of hope so its great to see how she was able to turn her life around, and Work Together for positivity. I love it. Thank you for that story. Thanks, lauren. All right. It was supposed to be a meal honoring black History Month. But instead of it has sparked outrage. What nyu served up on a menu aside from a side of racial incentive have the. This video is frightening a driver barrels through more than a dozen parked cars on a south philadelphia street overnight leaving behind thousands of dollars in damage. It happened on south third street sometime around 10 45 last night. People heard the noise and came running outside and one of them didnt want that driver to get away so he hemmed him down until police arrived. New Castle County Police are hoping someone recognizes this guy. Its a sketch of the man police say is exposing himself to people. Police say there were two incidents this month in the north gray land crest and roselle sections of wilmington. In both cases, a guy driving green car made contact with young girls walking and then decides to expose himself. If you know who he is, give police a call. And this morning five people are charged with filing false applications collecting tens of thousands of dollars in relief money in connection with super storm sandy. Theyre accused of receiving money from fema and other state grants that did not belong to them. That guy you see at the top, 64yearold david silva, is from egg harbor township. Prosecutors say the number of people charged in these cases since march 24 now stands at 109. Welcome back to good day weekend im lauren johnson. Thank you so much for joining us on this saturday morning. Scott williams has a look at your forecast. Hi, scott. Hi there are lauren. Another weekend so more unsettled weather. We have some areas of fog out there. But most of the rainfall arrives later on during the afternoon and the evening. Mid 40s right now. Well go to the mid 50s later on today. But look at the fog out there. Visibility down to 2 miles in philadelphia. Down to a quarter of a mile for places like lancaster, also, pottstown. Half mile visibility currently in dover and a quarter of a mile in millville and wildwood. So just be mindful of that. Low 40s north and west. We have mid to upper 40s through sections of delaware and also south jersey. So the average high this time of year is 46 degrees. Well top out right around 55 degrees for philadelphia. 56 in Atlantic City. Low 50s for the lehigh valley. Headed to the poconos temperatures will be stuck in the 40s for High Temperatures. So we have the clouds, some areas of fog but most of the rainfall its still off to the west. And then as we zoom out you can see a around parts of the ohio river valley moderate to heavy rainfall that will head in our direction. So temperatures later on today top out in the mid 50s, and that seven day forecast, well have that coming up but you can see 60 degrees for tomorrow instead yesterday of that rainfall arrives later on tonight through tomorrow morning. Lauren, back over to you. Thank you very much. New York University and the company that caters its dining facilities are apologizing this morning. Theyre saying sorry for whats being called a racially incentive lunch served during black History Month. The black History Month themed menu has faced plenty of backlash it included ribs, collard greens, corn bread, cool aid and watermelon flavored water. Sophomore nia harris wept to facebook on tuesday to express her displeasure and distaste writing on facebook in 2018, theres no excuse for intentional and deliberate disrespect. Nyu and the Catering Company aramark issued an apology and some employees have since been fired. Chad lassiter joins us this morning to discuss more about this. How are you . Im good. Good to see you. Good morning. Good morning. Tell me your first reaction when you heard about this. Not surprised. Deeply rooted and the birth of the nation the thing that i want to highlight is the fact this student used social media from a social justice perspective to get the word out. Back history is so much more than menus and food. Deeply rooted in the stereo typical nations of cool aid and watermelon juice. Collard greens corn bread, mac and cheese much the black Student Union at nyu was engaged in a black History Month progr program. So theres no need to engage in menus thinking that selling the story of black people in america is readed in our food. Theres so much more much its fanny, ida b wells. You think keeping the lesson out of the cafeteria would have been the best bet for ny judgment. The best bet. The individuals who created the menu didnt follow policy because they didnt get permission to actually make that the food for that menu they did it upon themselves. They have since been fired but what we see is in 2018 we see embold denness around the area we find ourselves n err rav racial intolerance. I think i was reading nias Facebook Post and some of the comments that came below it. Lets play definitelys advoca advocate. Angels advocate. They said nia, what would have been an appropriate non offensive menu . How would you answer that chad. You dont have to engage in having a menu but we definitely want to be cool aid and watermelon juice. You can have done something li like, Patti Labelle does. Cook food from cultural social standpoint as it relates to soul food. It could have been, you know, some other foods but it definitely could have been that. When we talk about cool aid we note it has stereo typical notion and poverty stricken communities. I think your answer to the next one some people are asking the question whats the difference between this menu and a soul food themed restaurant . Soul food themed restaurant if we look at city of philadelphia when you look at relish or warm daddies you look at miss tooties it has foods but it doesnt have the stereo typical satire around the cool aid and watermelon juice. I think that bother her the most. Certainly. She was puzzled by the food items but i think she said in her email to the Staff Members i think as beverage choices today there was a red cool aid and watermelon flavored water. Stereo typical. That upset her the most. Rarely epp sensitive. The president jumped on it. She should be commended for what she did and we need to have teachable moments like this good i was going to same you are always working with students so this is perfect example of how sometimes you speak your truth online. Yeah. She wrote a letter. Yeah. She took matter noose her own hands instead of just complaining to friends. Yeah. And something happened. Definitely. One of things we have to do create a paradigm shift because she did receive some backlash. People were like whats the big deal . Right. Youll have those people. Isnt will, some wont, so what she stood on her truth and were talking about it hopefully it will bring about change. We have a conversation going and thats the whole point of it. Always good to see you. Always good to see you chad. Thank you very much. Stealing our title. Did you hear about this . The yankees are now calling themselves underdogs despite being one of the best teams in baseball last year. Thlane johnson heard about it ad he has something to same well telsay. Well tell was that is cg up. clucking noises Everyone Wants to be the Cadbury Bunny because only he brings delicious cadbury creme eggs. Theres certain level of confidence and a certain level of calmness whether its under fire or things that are, you know, when things are going well, theres a certain level of focus. Dave thats sports in a minute. Im tom srendenschek. In philadelphia, its the year of the underdog as the city still basks in the glory of its first super bowl victory. But one of the master minds behind the eagles face famous dog mask lane john season is not happy about a recent New York Daily News cover. There it is right there. The title reads the underdogs accept its not referring to the eagles its referring to the yankees and it shows one of their players in the vintage eagles dog mask. Lane johnson saw it and he tweeted about the magazine cover saying real original. Hash tag fake news. [ laughter ] look at scott. I mean i get it. I get it. [ laughter ] i dont think the yankees can say that, right . No no one the greatest teams in baseball. I dont know. They started it here. Lane johnson. I dont know that we can claim like nobody else can ever say it. But to put the mask on. They copied. Its too soon after to wear the mask. Exactly. To have the mask and have it on the front of the paper. Okay. But maybe they want some of the mojo because when you claim to be an underdog you win the super bowl. Who knows what can happen. Exactly. But yeah. I mean we had it first, so. Its ours. It is, yeah. Well take that. Coping with tragedy. People around the world still grieving after floridas deadly high School Shooting. How a local arty cher is turning little hazy off in the distance there. This live look at allentown. Scott will have more on weather in just a minute jam. But first rising flood waters in kentucky prompted officials in louisville to Start Building a flood wall in portions of the city. Forecasters are projecting a moderate flood level in louisville yesterday and said it could be four or five days before that water recedes. The utility which maintains louieville metro ohio river flood protect system put up walls in two locations by yesterday afternoon. Speaking of flood waters yesterday scott was my hair day and guess what happened . It rained. That always happens to you. Put it in ponytail, right. Right. As we look at the temperatures right now, were average for this time of year. These are our typical High Temperatures. Well add about 10 degrees to the current numbers. Right now its 45 degrees in philadelphia. But as we go hour by hour, were looking at rape fall moving in especially later this afternoon and this evening. So keep that in mind for your evening plans temperatures top out around 55 degrees in philadelphia. Were looking at a high today wilmington 54. 56 in millville. North and west a little cooler. 50 in reading. 50 in pottstown. Only in the 40s for the poconos. So if youre headed north and west maybe to hit the ski slopes its going to be little chilly and also damp with that rain moving in. 40 chance this morning but you can see how the rain chances really kick up later on this afternoon and evening. 70 later tonight and 90 chance as we move toward tomorrow morning. So we have the clouds. Some areas of drizzle and mist, but nothing really organized or steady until you get a little farther off to the west, and this activity around the ohio river valley is headed right in our direction. So well go hour by hour. By 2 00 oclock showers moving in north and west. Well keep occasional showers around this evening for your dinner plans and then overnight, some of the instead yesterday rainfall through sunday morning before things kind of taper off after about lunch time for tomorrow. That Weather Authority seven day forecast showing you mid 50s today. 60 degrees for your sunday and then its damp for the first half of the day. So well kind of salvage your saturday morning as far as dry conditions and then sunday afternoon and evening so not a complete wash out. Then temperatures above average really next week nearing 60 degrees. Lauren. Alike that forecast, scott. Its difficult to deal with tragedy and if its like the one last week florida School Shooting, you dont have to know anyone involved to be severey bothered by it. Our hank flynn went to easton to meet an art teacher who is feeling that pain but taking action. Reporter its hank im in easton with miss Valerie Davis the art teacher at easton middle school. Shes doing portrait right now of meadow pollock who was gunned down last week in the School Shooting in florida. My take is, this is miss davis way of dealing with the tragedy for herself, for the family and for all of us. Killing, your lives are like snuffed out. I cant still cant figure out why. Reporter its a meditation this artwork Valerie Davis does. Her mind wanders as her hand moves with speed and certainty. Shes doing graphite on paper portraits of each of the parkland School Shooting victims portraits which will eventually find their way to grieving families. Its forgotten about it by some people next week. Theyll just go on with their lives. But these people have to live with this for the rest of their lives. Every time they look at this picture i want to remember someone cared. Reporter it had been sometime since the last ones. Miss davis had done portraits memorializing 9 11 firefighters, children killed at sandy hook. The victims of the Charleston Church shooting and others but this particular tragedy took a son of easton among the 17 killed chris hixon is from the south side his parents still live in town. I was telling the mayor that i drew these pictures and he said, val, when you see chris family, he said when you see the grandparents youre want to know them. Theyve been on Center Street all of their lives. Reporter miss davis from three blocks over. Theres a plan for later this week to deliver the portrait to hixons family but the work itself is the heart it all. It allows miss davis to consider those killed, who they were washington they might have been, the teacher comes out when she thinks about her own students. Like i watched that fire drill they have and i was telling my students in school, you have to take fire drills serious. You cant be talking. Its importnt for us to know where you are, to know that you have to be, um, where you said you were going to be and we have to be you have to be accountable. Reporter miss davis gave me a gift, too, portrait she had done of Joaquin Oliver she reduced to the size of a necklace medallion and sealed it with a hug. Im glad i met miss davis shes processing this tragedy the best way that she can. Shes brought and will continue to bring healing to people in pain. Im hank and thats my take. And speaking of that touch topic a month from day organizers expecting hundreds of thousands of people to fled the nations capitol to fight to put an end to mass shootings. March for our lives organized by students directly affected by last weeks marjory Stoneman Douglas shooting in florida. Since then, organizers have secured nearly 2 million on a gofundme page along with plenty of celebrity donations from the likes of oprah winfrey, steven spielberg, george and amal clooney. An official locate hasnt really been set organizers say it will happen in d. C. And its definitely going to be scheduled on march 24th. Major League Baseball spring training begins teams wear caps honoring Florida Shooting victims. Teams are wearing caps with the logo of marjory Stoneman Douglas high school. The cap company made the special caps for friday games in florida and arizona for all the players, coaches and the umpires. Well have a live report coming up from the fox 29 studios this is good day philadelphia weekend. Oh, my god horns honking, brakes screeching, because of a reckless driver plowing through cars on a south philadelphia street. Forcing neighbors to get involved. How they jumped into action before police were able to make it there. And a Historic Building ravaged by a massive fire must come down. What that means for those of you planning to visit old city this weekend. And a horrific shooting thats forever changed the world we live in. How the florida School Shooting has brought the copycat threat here to our area. Good day everyone its saturday, february 24th, 2018. I know last week i was so bothered i covered a story in north philadelphia where you could see a man on Surveillance Video pull a gun out of his sweatshirt cock it walk up to the front door and try to pull on the door. It just scares you. You dont know what someone is thinking or what theyre going to do. Yeah. Thats just frightening. Disturb. 8 00 oclock on the dot. Scott has a look at our foreca forecast. It doesnt feel like february but its still winter, right. This is the last weekend of the month of february. Were almost into march. Live look outside our studios. Showing you folks have on the jackets and they will need the rain gear later on because those showers will be moving in. But temperature wise, right now its 45 degrees and the sun will set this evening at 5 47. Look at the reduced visible across the area down 2 miles now in millville. 2 miles in Atlantic City. Down to a quarter of a mile as you move toward places like pottstown. So just be mindful of areas of fog. Temperatures low to mid 40s right now north and west. We have 42 degrees in pottstown. 47 in dover. 47 degrees right now in wildwo wildwood. So temperatures later on today it depends on your location. 44 degrees in the poconos for the high. 51 in allentown. Mid 50s for philadelphia and also sections of south jersey into delaware. Were dry for the most part but you can see the green. The rainfall off to the west and as we expand the view, look at some of the heavy rain around the ohio river valley. That will head in our direction especially later on this afternoon and into this evening. So grab the umbrellas youll need it later on today but if youre running those errands first thing this morning youre okay. 55 degrees will be the High Temperature for today and then by tomorrow, look at the numbers. Nearing 60 degrees. Well go hour by hour and talk about expected totals coming up. Oh, my god can you imagine being a witness to this . A driver barreling through more than a dozen park cars on a south philly street. This happening overnight. Leaving behind thousands of dollars in damage. It was mind blowing. I had to pop in the house and call neighbors up and just started making sure all my friends cars were okay. So just mind blowing. Reporter so that was actually one neighbor i talked to who said he had just gotten home from work and he saw all of his neighbors out here in the street working together as you heard him say they were holding down the driver who caused all of this damage until police arrived. So it was Third District police. They responded and they ended up taking that man into custody on suspicion of dui. In the meantime we have again nine cars here but that man we talk to said last night there were roughly 15, 16 so some of those cars probably were moved overnight. But a lot to figure out now. I think you also heard that man say that they believe the driver is one of their neighbors. So people here know who that person is. So its likely he will have to pay for this damage. Back to you lauren. That is rough. Jenny joyce, thank you so much. Police are investigating a double shooting in north philadelphia this morning. Thats not a surprise. Been there, done that. 40 of those consumers say that it make them sad. Make them depressed. Because youre trying to climb out of a hole that you seemingly cant get out. Yeah much this is serious stuff. Depression is big business as you know. Bad business and 20 of consumers say that their Credit Card Debt is physically making them ill. Actually making them ill. Huring their health. That is huge issue, right. Umhmm. The good news this morning, folks, is, number one, youre in the alone much this is a common problem. It is. If youre watching there are things you can do to get out of this funk to make yourself financially healthy and put yourselves back on the road to physical health. I know one tip. Its very easy. Go ahead. You have to pay little bit more than the minimum amount. Heres the deal. If you have lets say a 6,400 about the average and if youre just paying the minimum if your credit card is 18 , a lot of them are more, but the average about 18 , if you owe 6400 bucks making minimum payment, its going to take you more than 30 years. And then not to mention all the interest youre paying over that 30 years. 18,000. What . Yeah. I tell folks, look, youre going to see the movies tonight. Youre going to see black panther tonight. Yes. Put it on your credit card that movie better be really good because youll be paying for it for the neck 30 years. My goodness. Dont get caught in that trap of just paying the minimum. Few tips. Number one tackle the high Interest Rate card first. If you have multiple cards. Focus on the one with the highest rate just pay the minimum payment on the others get rid of it. Okay. Okay. A little trick we talk about here on good day before i still like. 0 credit card offer. You can get them usually good for about 12 months. Okay. Transfer your balances over. Okay. Right . Work on that card for the neck 12 months. That makes sense. Because youre not paying interest. Youre not paying interest. You know, chipping away at the principal. Umhmm. Lets do that. And finally, if you really are jammed up and a lot of people are by the way dont be embarrassed because its not just lower income consumers that have this problem. I work with people who make a lot of money. And theyre jammed up with credit cards. Okay. Umhmm. If youre really in trouble check out consumer. Ftc. Gov. Whats that. Federal trade commission. Google federal trade commission. Government website that will help consumers that can give you all sorts of information on how you can unbury yourself. How you can get back to fresh air when it comes to your credit cards to get you back to health. Gotcha. I have a tip people ask me all the time youre always traveli traveling. But my aunt taught me this and i think it works beautifully. If you know youll spend money on traveling, let your money work for you, right . So i use my credit card to charge my every day items but i keep up with it and then you pay that chunk off but in the meantime youre getting points and youre getting benefits and all of that for using the credit card so make your card work for you. You travel a lot. Yes. You really do. Mom, you visit mom in florida. Always on the road. In at land t it makes sense for you to do that. To gather those points and use it against the cost of your travel. Right. For most of us who dont travel a hot if youre not traveling a lot use the best cash back card you can get. Go for that cash. Yeah. Use that to help pay the next monthss bill. True or we could win the lottery. Or that. Or marry well. [ laughter ] check out the numbers. Oh youll earn every dime if you marry well. Trust me. We are fed up and tired of the nra continue to go lobe for less strict gun laws and for more guns on our streets. Lauren over to you. Weather looking good, scott. We love it. Okay. Tomorrow the first of its kind event honoring local women who have overcome all different kinds of adversity. Its called walking beautifully strong. Its all organized by latoya scott and she is here now with her own story and struggle and more on why she dreamed up this even. Thank you for coming in. I know youre running around like crazy to get everything in place for tomorrows event. Absolutely. We first have to start by saying we know it sold out but youre saying youre going to make room for whoever shows up. Absolutely. Im going to make plenty of room for the women who would like to attend. They just have to go to event bright and just register under walking beautifully strong. La toy quark you dreamed this up out of your own struggles. Seven months pregnant. Tell me what happened. My baby she wound up having complications she had down syndrome and few other situations and i was at the university of pennsylvania and they thought it was best for me to because she would have came out a different way so they said best that you terminate. So i had to carry her for two weeks knowing that i had to terminate and just feeling her kicks and her movements and thinking shes a normal child but when i would have had her she would have came out, you know, a lot of issues so it was hard decision. I had her footprints and, you know, me doing this event causes me to propel my grieving process. So me honoring women who have been through all types of things just letting them know you have the right to live past your pa pain. I know i read some of the stories of the women. One woman who is local whos living with hiv. Yes. Theres other women who have their own stories. Yes. How did you find these women and locate them to help them come forward and share their stories . Well a few of women i personally new and i watched their lives progressively and i said you know what, she would be a great candidate. I met the woman with hiv at a another event and i said she would be amazing because she was so strong and she was confident. So all the women have been through traumatic experiences. Theyre currently dealing with breast cancer, um, loss of babies, loss of their mothers, um, one woman you know she was in a poverty situation now shes going to get her masters next week. I saw that. Its so its amazing. Im just excited just to honor the women and you know its just something im doing from my heart. Year of the woman they say. The year of the woman. For women and by women. We always hear the phrase, what doesnt kill us, makes us stronger. Yes, makes us stronger. Did you truly believe that now. Yes. Every time i have an inn link i get sad or i think about all the women that im empowering to move forward, just my life being a testimony to help them propel to say, i can do this. I can make it and im living for my children, for my family, for my husbands and thats my thing. I had to live for my threeyearold daughter, and, you know, its amazing. I know tomorrow kind of walk me through what will happen at this event. Tomorrow we have a dynamic speaker Jocelyn Fitzgerald from compelling your world ministries shes amazing. Shes out of philadelphia. We have a lot of vendors. We have, um, painter who will do a live paining. Nice. Geared to the event. Well donate that to one of the woman. All the raffles are free. The lord told me to give it away for free. It is not about money so the women are everybody will walk away with something tangiblely and walk away spiritually empowered and rich. Im excited. My last question for you is what do you hope these women walk away with tomorrow when they leave aside from those tangible things that you just mention idea what do you hope they leave with the message in their heart . Just more strength. Their husbands, theyre boyfriends who attend just to begin to help them heal through their process where they dont have to feel like theyre alone. This is the main living area. Reporter on the inside this house looks like any normal house. But the outside, it looks completely different. You see, this house is made out of a recycle shipping container. For the last four months, standard 20foot container has been parked at the Great Valley Shopping Center in malvern. Karlo an architect presented the container home idea to william a few years ago. I had just retired. I thought hit potential much the concept of tiny houses was coming up and was becoming a trend. So we said i think its probably the right time to do it. Reporter this home is about 160 square feet. But if thats too small these containers can be placed side by side or stack up to at high as nine. These steal structures make it all possible. You can use it as backyard retreat, i mean, guest house, in law house, if your kid is coming back from college and you want to give him some independence. Reporter homes are assembled inside a factory. Then moved and set up anywhere you can imagine. Plans on the companys website show these containers could be used as shelters in emergency areas. We are exploring the possibility of having a combination of solar panel and water Collection System on the roof. We would like to have something that is completely off the grid report roar this model starts at 36,000. So for less than luxury car, this could be yours. You compare prices maybe we are on the same level as a mobile home but i mean thats like comparing apples and oranges report roar difference in living in steel container sanu idea.
