We have developing story out of south philadelphia. Guy who police tried to mow down people with his car is dead shot and killed by an off duty officer. It happened on broad and bigler streets right around 7 30 this morning. Investigators tell us the man was driving a black honda and targeted people. He did end up hitting someone who was getting out of a car. An off duty saw it all going down ended up in what Police Administrators call a violent struggle with the man. At one point the off duty cop fired several shots from his department issued gun hitting the ma and in the face. He later died at the hospital. Weve got a lot of Unanswered Questions right now. So it is a very complex investigation that has multiple facets from the standpoint of what was this individual involved in. Why did that dough what they did . Why such erratic and bizarre behavior as well as to be candid with you our involve many as well related to the discharge. All right. So per protocol, the officer is on administrative leave pending the out come of the investigation. We dont know the extent of the injuries of the person hit by the car. Now in reading, a shooting has Officials Say they cannot remember the last time so many people died in one incident. Four young men all in the same house are dead. We have no suspects at this time. With that being said we do not believe, um, that this was a random act and that anybody in the city of reading has any reason to be alarmed. Police say the men were all in their early 20s and that their killer or killers shot them again and again in that house on south third street last night. Investigators have identified three of the victims. Jar lynn tejada, Juan Rodriguez and joshua santos. Three of the men died at the scene. The fourth died at the hospital. In montgomery county, a hitandrun driver has killed a father of two. You saw it as breaking news here last night at 10 00. It shut down the eastbound lanes of interstate 76. Reporter 32yearold Michael House of boyertown a husband and father of two young boys didnt make it home from work last night. Its a sad day. Reporter owner of k and s towing in Havertown Steve says house was out on call towing a car along the schuylkill expressway near the belmont avenue exit when he was clipped and killed by a hitandrun drive. He was getting ready to inch the car on to the deck and he was actually so close to the wall from my understanding he couldnt get to the controls on the passenger side of the truck. So he had to stand on that side of the truck. It was a real tight shoulder. Reporter Police Arrested 35yearold emmanuel doxy of philadelphia and charged him with vehicular homicide. Doxy had nothing to say to our cameras at the state police belmont barrack but house haas coworkers at k and s had a lot to share. Ive been crying since 4 15 this morning. He was a nice guy. Cliche to say, every day he came in to work he had a big smile on his face. He received calls from towing Companies Across the country offering their condolence. But basically were just looking for some light slushy snow that should not be sticking to the ground or the sidewalks or parking lots because of the warm temperatures during the day tomorrow.
