Breaking news this morning out of northeast philadelphia where Police Believe someone set a home on fire sending a teenager to the hospital. Jenny joyce live at the scene in frankford with the very latest on exactly what happened. Jenny. Report gore morning, lauren. Well, as of sun is coming up were getting a better idea of what happened overnight. Look at that pile of debris. Thats now sitting in front of this home here on the 1300 block of ruin street in the frankford section of the city. The fire is under investigation right now. But officials tell us the early indication is that this fire was intentionally set. Fire crews responded to a call here just after 11 30 last night. The initial report was for fire on the first floor of the home. A 17yearold was transported to Saint Christophers Hospital for smoke inhalation. As fire crews unleashed the hoses an tack the hot spots, it was placed under control by 1 0. Thats when the investigation began. Right now we dont know where the fire started or who else aside from the victim may have been home or in the area at the time of the fire. The good news that we know right now is that the hospitalized teen is expected to be okay. Lauren . Jenny joyce, thank you so much. 7 04. Lets get to this on the overnight fire. Crews were busy battling flames at a home in north philadelphia. That fire broke out around 4 30 this morning in the 1800 block of north 24th street. Investigators still trying to figure out what caused the fire. Luckily though no one was hurt. And in bucks county, a serious accident sends at least two people to the hospital overnight. It happened on us1 near pine street in langhorne. Police tell us three cars were involved in the crash. All with significant damage. Were still waiting for an update on what caused that crash to happen. A shocking twist in a new jersey murder investigation. Dr. James kauffman who was facing murder charges for his wifes death is found dead in his new jersey jail cell. Just two and a half weeks ago dr. Kauffman was arrested for hiring a hit man to kill his wife radio host April Kauffman. This was back in 2012. Sources say he left behind a suicide note in his Hudson County jail cell yesterday morning. Reports say he waited until his cell mate was taken out for a court appearance. Its believed he used a bed sheet to take his life. We spoke to April Kauffmans daughter earlier this month shortly after dr. Kauffman was charged with murder. For the past five and a half years, i have felt like ive been holding my breath. I think for the first time today i can actually breathe. Prosecutors say the investigation into April Kauffmans death will continue. Bill cosbys month lawyers have accused of prosecutors of with holding evidence they say could have helped his defense in his Sexual Assault trial. Lawyers argue prosecutors told them last week about an interview last year with a former Temple University colleague who said cosbys accuser andrea couldnt cant stand told her she was not sexually assaulted but could make up allegations to sue and get money. Now, cosbys lawyers are asking the judge to throw out the case before prosecutors get a chance to retry him in april. A local teenager in trouble with the law after police say he made threats towards his former high school. The threats posted on social media include add picture of someone holding a gun and a statement threatening the high school in wilmington. Investigators say the post came from 14yearold boy who was recently removed from the school. The teenager is in custody and facing charges. Several students tenches from north Philadelphia School town to the hospital after Carbon Monoxide seeped into the classroom i happened at the William Loesche school. Some students and a second grade class started to get sick. So they called the Fire Department and evacuated the students. Were in the lunch room, and i dont know we heard the bells and everyone started screaming and jumping out of their seats, and our janitor said, like, get them outside. Scary stuff. The fumes came from a generator on the roof as a precaution the entire class 26 students and four Staff Members were taken to the hospital for observation. School Officials Say everyone is expected to be okay. Bridget may be rising from the ashes after the restaurant suffered a devastating below last october. On your sunday damp conditions and that rainfall lingers into the first half of the day for sections of south jersey and also delaware before this system finally moves out. Well advance the clock hour by hour you can see after about ten, 11 00 oclock were watching that front move through. So after midnight moving toward early sunday morning. Were talking about wet weather off to church grab the rain gear as we move toward nine, 10 00 oclock most of the steadier rain will push into south jersey and delaware. But it kind of lingers as that boundary kind of stalls a bit into the early afternoon time frame. So were talking about a quarter of an inch of rainfall as we look at the forecast roller coaster temperatures all over the place. 57 degrees today. 54 degrees for sunday. Even flurries changing into light snow for Tuesday Morning. That could impact the Tuesday Morning commute. Temperatures in the 30s tuesday, wednesday milder again upper 40s thursday. Then another front rain changing to snow likely next friday. So once again, a heads up, monday night into Tuesday Morning, the early call were talking upwards to about an inch before all is said and done with that system. Now that could change. But next weekend, cold air around minneapolis, High Temperatures for the super bowl there likely will be in the teens. Maybe some light snow there next sunday. Despite still being in the middle of flu season, doctors are still encouraging people to get their flu shots saying that even if you still get the new, your symptoms could be significantly less severe. Meanwhile the number of teens eating tide pods continues to sky rocket. The American Association of Poison Control Centers reported 39 cases of teens being exposed to the detergent in tide pods in all of 2016, 53 last year. And were just a few weeks into 2018 already 86 cases. Following the dangerous trend tied took action to stop he can of people from eating the pods by putting out warnings and psas while youtube has vowed to remove any tied pod challenge videos. The initial report was for a fire on the first floor of the home. 17yearold was transported to Saint Christophers Hospital for smoke inhalation as fire crews unleashed the hoses and attacked the hot spots it was under control by 1 00 a. And in bucks county, a serious accident sends at least two people to the hospital overnig overnight. It happened on u. S. One near pine street in langhorne. Police tell us three cars were involved in the crash. All with significant damage. We are still waiting for an update on exactly how that crash happened. Now to a developing story a shocking twist in a new jersey murder investigation. Dr. James kauffman who was facing murder charges for his wifes death is found dead inside his new jersey jail cell. Just two and a half weeks ago, dr. Kauffman was arrested for hiring a hit man to kill his wife radio host April Kauffman back in 2012. Sources say he left behind a suicide note in his Hudson County jail cell yesterday morning. Reports say he waited until his cell mate was taken out for court appearance. Its believed he used a bed sheet to take his life. We spoke to April Kauffmans daughter earlier this month shortly after dr. Kauffman was charged with her mothers murd murder. For the past five and a half years i have felt like ive been holding my breath. I think for the first time time today i can actually breathe. Prosecutors say the investigation into April Kauffmans death will continue. Bill cosbys lawyers have accused of prosecutors of with holding evidence that they say could have helped his defense in his Sexual Assault trial. The lawyers argue prosecutors told them last week about an interview last year with former Temple University colleague who said cosby as kuser andrea con stand told her sean sexually assault you had but would make up allegations to sue and get money. Now cosbys lawyers are asking a judge to throw out the case before prosecutors get a chance to retry him in april. Yes, sure. So i met raphael in college. I was a finance student. Raphael was studying law and instantly both in business 101 class became good friends, and by sophomore year i was the one with a car out of the friends group. I was driving of one 7eleven, to cvs and realized like im done doing favors and there has to be better way to get Convenience Store products delivered. So thats when we thought of the idea when we told our parents, we told our friends they thought we were crazy. Like, you know, just finish school, you guys if you want to start a business just graduate and just go the traditional route and we went against what everyone thought was right for us and we started the business junior year of college. Raphael and myself were doing deliveries for six months. Didnt hire a single employee until we were doing hundreds of deliveries a day. And little by little became profitable started expanding more markets and history after that. So piece of advice to these people out that thinking of starting a business. Go for it, right. Go for it.
