That suspect were told shot the officer. Fellow officers managed to arrest the suspect right there at the scene. The suspect was taken into custody without incident. He was not injured. Um, and were currently conducting further investigation as to who he was with and what he was doing and why he had a gun and why he shot our officer. Reporter and so the police chief wanting to give very Little Information about the officer tonight as the investigation continues. We do know that this officer that was shot tonight has just one year on the force. Did he not fire his weapon were told during the struggle. As for the suspect, again, he is in custody. He was not shot. Were told that he is a resident of camden and that police did recover the weapon they say was used in this shooting. So er section is back open tonight but just behind us there was police tape blocking it. Theres a police car in the driveway right now. Were told that is the police car that transported the officer here to cooper hospital tonight. But again that officer is in stable condition. Thats the very latest from cam. Back to you. The complaint also says during a september 2016 arrest at this local hotel, nucera slammed the head of a handcuffed 18yearold africanamerican suspect into a door jam.
