What we are seeing here is medical crews taking the injured person in a stretcher putting him in the back of the ambulance but you can see here look at the car how it is slammed into the back and sort of underneath the tractor trailer. They had to cut roof off of the vehicle. They were able to rescue the driver. We will keep good thoughts for him as they take him to the hospital. All eastbound lanes of the turnpike are closed and this is just east of the philadelphia bensalem interchange. Now a makeshift memorial to remember young lives lost, last night, community gathered hand and hand praying for young helpless victims. We are looking at the Temple University medivacd taking that person that was injured flying them here in to philadelphia to temple so they landed the medical helicopter on a grass field just off of the roadway, but again, the accident happened on the eastbound pennsylvania turnpike just east of the philly bensalem interchange. It is right at the street road slip ramp for ez pass. Vehicle slammed in the back of the tractor trailer and luckily emergency crews were able to rescue driver and safe ly aboard a medical helicopter and good thoughts his way as he flies here in to philly and temple. In is causing a big backup on the turnpike eastbound just east of the route one interchange. We are backup on route one trying to get on to the turnpike and there that is delay heading east over toward philadelphia bensalem. An accident were piled up here on 422, eastbound slow go from pretty much royersford all the way through collegeville because of this crash that happened here in the work zone, and this guy here, westbound hire on the schuylkill expressway right here near conshohocken, im not sure fit is an accident or this guy pulled off to the shoulder. Ever since Harvey Weinstein Sexual Harassment case blew up women are encouraging to speak out. This began with alyssa milano. She said to stand against Sexual Harassment and assault by replying to her post saying me too. That has been trending, more than 20,000 responses, to her initial tweet and it is now that people are seeing. So to discuss more we are joined by attorney amy feldman and a therapist, good morning to both of you. Good morning. I want to start with you. Because hearing the talk about this and different women coming forward saying even years later, it is still difficult. Im shaking still. What does it feel like for these women seeing me too campaign and so many people coming out, sit strength in numbers. What happens is folks are silenced when they share their stories, right. So being able to band together and saying this is happening. This is an issue, right that folks are trying to champion and solidify the fact that this is a concern that need to be addressed. Very often when stories come out it gets made personal and these cases are treated as if they are rare, and so folks who maybe didnt feel like they could come forward before are pushed even further to the margins and so having a like me too encouraging people to use their voice and to feel empowered in the way they may not have before. It sound like they have been silenced. She said i try to tell people. No big deal. That is just how it goes. Is that part of the reason why we have seen women silent all these years. So validating to have someone else say that has happened to me, right. Beyond that if anything were to actually be persued in this regard, that there are more bodies that can say yeah, we have experienced this as well. Couple things, i will have you just sit, switch you position a bit so you look forward because i want to see your face. You say that there are level of distress. Yes. So when folks have been harmed and Sexual Harassment is a traumatic experience for a lot of folks that there are so many levels that folks can go through, right. It sold be Something Like stage of grief, going from denial through bargaining and eventually through depression, and then maybe acceptance, all right. Or we could experience something more like ptsd. That is severe. Very severe, right. Intrusive thoughts, hyper vigilance, insomnia. All of my female friend, almost everybody has had some kind of an experience. So are there different kind of Sexual Harassment. Harvey weinstein, give me some sex and i wont tell anybody, i wont fire you or ill hell are help your career. It is a very common, what you see here with Harvey Weinstein is one kind of Sexual Harassment which is call the quid pro quo Sexual Harassment. That is actually a proposition it is where a boss or someone in the position of power makes an offer to you that you cannot refuse, either because they have promised good job benefits if you agree or they threaten you with negative job action if you dont. That happens, in the work place frequently but the much more common type of Sexual Harassment doesnt even involve propositions but when entire work place is like a locker room. It is so permeated with jokes, gestures, touching, pornography, videos it unreasonablely interferes with somebody to do their job. If that has happened to you and you have been feeling these different stress levels for you for years what can you do legally. First thing to know in the work place. These were different. They were hoping to. But they didnt at the time. But vast majority of the people who this face this are employed at a Company Virtual ly every company has a Sexual Harassment policy. First thing you need to do is find that policy, go to hr, look in your policy manual and to see what it says and whom you will complain. You will lose your rights if you just go outside and try to file a suit. Instead you go internally first, explain the situation, hopefully that gets it resolved f that does not get it resolved then you can take your claim to the equal Employment Opportunity commission or to the state agency but remember you only have a limited time to do that how much time, how many days. It depends on the state you had are in and size of your employer. Under federal law as long as your employer has 15 or more employees, you have 300 days, to go to the eeoc from the date that this happened. If your employer has fewer then 15 employees, it is not covered by federal law it is based on state law. In pennsylvania, and in delaware, you would have 180 days, if you have four to 15 employees. In new jersey, you have, up to two years. And if it is after that, there is nothing that can be do that is it. After that then you dont have the right to sue for employment, for section harassment. One of the reasons Harvey Weinstein got caught, if everybody knew this wassing on for 30 years, a woman put a wire on him, recorded his propositions, to him. Right. Can do you that in pennsylvania, new jersey and delaware. We really have to caution people, right. That woman had gone to the police who had a wire. Remember that in both pennsylvania and in delaware, both parties to a conversation need to know that they are being recorded. In new jersey you can record someone, so long as one person that is you know but in pennsylvania and delaware you are, creating a felony. Police say yesterday these , they were already dead when they arrived here at the home on ninth and adams in wilmington, and, 911 call came in from the boys mother, police, say she was here, and she was inside. Very sad situation, two young boys dead and police say it appears they died from some sort of drowning, and, and autopsy, conduct by the medical examiner, but until then, an investigation, continues into what happened inside the house. The mother outside and entered the location and saw two children that were deceased. They had a strong smell of gas that is crazy. It happened right next door to my house. It is heart breaking. To have my 13 yearold who has also been in a victim of certain things in this city, i really worry for the children. Reporter neighbors initially outraged, at the idea that a mother could harm her own children but then saddened by violence that happened here. Small group held a vigil praying for not only this family but for children of this community. She wrote an article in the daily news chronicling what happened when she enter the hospital to deliver her first born. Coming home there is conversations that needed to be had but they did not have them. No, no. So prior to entering recovery my drug of choice were alcohol and xanax. Alcohol for how many years. Twelve years. Like alex said, you have been in recovery for four years. Yes. So well before you got pregnant with teddy. Yes. Teddys a girl. Just like my granddaughter. Yes. Unique name. Adorable. Thank you. You are pregnant. Yes. Did you tell your doctor about your recovery. I did, during my in take i went to my first appointment at 12 weeks. I in the allergies section of the in take i mentioned it. Because there is not necessarily a section on a in take form where you can mention you are in recovery and for what and how long. That should probably change i would agree with that. Yes. So i explained to her that i was in recovery, my drugs of choice were alcohol and xanax and that i could take search eighths prior due to surgery but i never abused them. So in my recovery i used open eighths the way i was supposed to use them after surgery and i was fine but would i prefer, you know, unless i had surgery or stitches or something to not take them. Lets get to the day of delivery. What is important to note you had this conversation with your doctor and what did your doctor do. She wrote it down. That was our last conversation. Is there not a back and forth she didnt ask more questions just wrote something down and moved on. That is important to note in your story because then you had teddy, and the epidural wore off, okay, now what. You literally described it. How did you dry it, a saw moving through your uterus. Yes. So what happened, what will we do now im in pain. I had a Second Degree tear, and they told me normally under those circumstances, that they would prescribe percocet my paperwork said i had a history of open eighth addiction which i did not and that they felt more comfortable giving me tylenol. Regular tylenol and motrin for a headache did that do it. No. You are in pain. Yes. That had to be frustrating because you brought it up with your doctor. You told them. They said they have a blanket, thing that they wouldnt do when it comes to these situations. Exactly. It felt almost like i was being treated as a pain seeking, pain medication seeking patient like a drug seeking patient. I really just, i thought that i cleared all of this in advance with my doctor. Okay. I have heard other woman say they treated me like i just took heroin bring went in the delivery room, which isnt the case. Yes. So doctor what need to change here. I think the sensitivity on the part of the medical field need to be changed also and part of the training in residency and through medical school should be coming more aware of how to be dealing with the subjective aspect of what the patient is really truly saying. That conversation, at 12 weeks should have been followed a urine drug screen because it is not unusual for patients with this type of history to actually still be actively involved with drugs. That having been excluded the conversation later on in the pregnancy by your physician should have been, well, how do we deal with pain management. Because, there was a lapse of time here, and i think a misunderstanding in terms of what the doctors understood and what you wrote down and she was tapped as being a open eighth user. She should be screaming out every few weeks, now remember, im in recovery, im in recovery or is that up to the doctor. It is not person in recovery is going to be spilling out, at every visit, but it is something that we physicians intuitively should ab wear. The doctor was informed. If the patient was tested, which im pretty sure you were and it turns out there wasnt, at some point later on in the pregnancy a discussion on the plans for pain management, should be in there. Yes. Those conversations arent already being had. Those conversations like how many times does a physician to have spend with each patient, that is changing and if it wasnt brought up as an issue, it it would bypass. So much you have to teach the patient in the course of the period of time that you have to be acceptable and is there a in take when you go to the hospital so at the hospital, either medical student who interviewed you or resident who admitted you, should have had a more clear understanding of this drug, history. But the situation with the drug problem in america we need to change the form. Yes, im in recovery. Were being trained and i think you heard is there more awareness and more evaluations and certification that we doctors have taken these course is to be more oriented toward the abuse of drugs and to stop writing prescriptions so frequently. But on the other hand, i think stereo typically you were treated as if you were a categorical drug abuser. If im in recovery, can i get percocet if i beg for it. Of course, someone will sit with you. Percocet right now would have been the drug of choice, for someone in the obstetrical field in pain. What is fear shes in recovery, percocet will get her addicted again. Well, no it is most safe drug to use in obstetrics in any surgical field. What you want to stay way from is more of the tie tylenol codeine because break down product is morphine. They could have given her something had there been a proper conversation. We had a communication problem here, misunderstanding. It is a big deal when you have a saw going through your uterus. If her epidural turning off Second Degree vaginal tearing is very common. If she was having problems and epidural was wearing and she was screaming, and in pain and moving all over you could not so her back, local anesthetic would have done the job too.
