Philadelphia police found this car riddled with bullets this morning inside a 32yearold woman shot dead but who did it . Fox 29s sabina spoke with frightened neighbors. Reporter crime scene investigators combed this 2014 ford escape for evidence determined to find the person who murdered a 32yearold woman early saturday morning. Like firecrackers. It was 1 oclock. I was upstairs and heard them. I come running down. Reporter richard lives right across the street from the parking lot of this converted schoolyard. He says just after he heard those gun shots officers from the 24th district searched the streets with spotlights but it wasnt until just after 5 00 when police found the woman in the drivers seat of the car. She had been shot in the head and body and was pronounced dead minutes later by medics at the scene. Shame for that persons family. To help women to help people get back up on their feet and yet right here in that same block someone losses their life. Reporter the building adjacent to the parking lot where the car was found houses a ged prep center run by community womens education prompt signs advertising a summer camp hang outside the door. The scene of the alleged murder sits less than a mile from where a young mother was gunned down in her Port Richmond home days ago. A fact not lost on a few people who live here. Police found a 30yearold man just lying on the sidewalk in the 1900 block of mountain street last night. He had been shot four times and died at the hospital. So far no arrests none suspects or any hints about why the shooting happened in the first place. A 10yearold little boy is in stable condition after being shot in the stomach. This happened this afternoon on the 3,000 block of West Third Street in chester. When officers arrived on the scene they say a Good Samaritan was caring for the boy. Hes now in the hospital. Police say they took a 17yearold in for questioning. No word yet on any charges or what happened right before the shooting. Tonight a 21yearold wilkesbarre man is under arrest charged with kidnapping and assaulting a teenaged girl. Now, police say walter lewis took Jena Patterson from her home thursday night an amber alert went out authorities searched all night and then this Morning Police got a tip. The man and the teenager were spotted in a parking garage at the hospital. Police say lewis tried to run away but they were able to catch him and arrest him. Theres no word on what led to the kidnapping in the first place. In franklin, new jersey, managers at walmart noticed strange behavior inside one of their bathrooms and they called police. When it was all said and done, officers arrested 24yearold Brittany Jamison here. Police have not said exactly what she was doing but they did say they found her inside that bathroom with heroin, hypodermic needles marijuana and other drug paraphernalia. Jamison faces a number of drug charges tonight. Shes due in court next week. Dangerous wildfires are spreading in several western states and now comes word that a firefighter has been killed in one fast moving fire in Northern California. No one has been arrested for the apparent abuse but after our story aired ktu and the shelter received thousands of offers to adopt fireman. The snake is called the gaboon viper and its venom is so deadly it can kill in minutes. She was driving in Baldwin County when she saw the snakeheading towards an old cemetery. Ive been with the department 18 and a half years and i have never once heard of a gaboon viper being found in the wild in this state. These are all the Lightning Strikes and theres that one cluster of storms in Sussex County here. This is as a a little weak front pushes through the area. It has really intensified these storms. It is moving off the coast and weakening as it moves south but these will be with us for the next hour or so much its going right up towards llewes delaware maybe passing by just south of cape may there in cape may county, though cape may did see some rain earlier. This area is moving south. Heavy rain around llewes delaware and rehoboth beach. This is High Resolution forecast that updates throughout the day. Picks up that cluster of storms but moves it south slowly. This will be after midnight tonight. The important thing though is by tomorrow morning, it is gone. Its moved south. And things are mostly clear. This is the only area that could see the rain in the next few hours. Temperatures are still into the 80s in philadelphia but right around 80 in dover. Cooling off a bit in the north and western suburbs. Mount pocono look at that down to 61 degrees. Now, tomorrow well see that heat and with more sunshine in center city up to 90 degrees, p. M. Sea breeze tomorrow down the shore, didnt quite get that today but well have it tomorrow, that will drop the temperature a bit. Pocono race way the last day of the race weekend here, no showers. There were a few showers earlier but looks like its clearing out. Temperature of 79 degrees. Now, we have 88 then dropping to 81. The wind will pick up a bit out of the south. The rains cleared out and its moved south from the delaware beaches but nice comfortable day there. Now, the heat plus the humidity, theyre back. Its 90 tomorrow. But on monday morning were into the 70s, climbing into the mid to low 90s by monday afternoon but look at the cooler air approaching from the north. This is the relief that were talking about. There could be stronger storms moving in. Just a a marginal risk for severe weather. This will be late monday and it does include a lot of the north and western counties. So the timing of this, this is a widespread area of showers and storms, not just isolated like we have right now will be monday night. A line coming through the state monday. Youre fine during the day maybe just an isolated shower. But stronger storms approaching the northern and western suburbs by monday neither and this is a front that will stall and well have an area of low pressure moving along this so we have to keep the unsettled weather in the forecast both tuesday and wednesday and maybe even early thursday but looks like well start to get a little break there on thursday. So, this is the sign that we have the cooler temperatures coming in but before that happens, we have these storms developing theyre late monday, not acting us during the day. Temperatures then trop below 90 with that rain continuing and well start to dry out a little bit on thursday, maybe for a day or two. So monday, tuesday wednesday. Monday night tuesday wednesday that will be the day with the storms in the sevenday forecast but we have cooler weather dropping to 89 degrees on tuesday. Wednesday the showers linger with 86. Dry day on thursday, maybe early friday but the humidity returns. Were back to the warm and humid weather with a high of 85. The power of social media and the dedication of some airport workers reunite a couple from afghanistan with their long lost wedding album. When the couple moved from afghanistan to california they went through lax where somehow at the airport their wedding album got lost. Airport workers found it. At first i didnt think anyone would really grasp on. I figured they wouldnt take me serious. Once everyone got on board and saw the program and what it could do i think it really. Pair went through two months of rigorous training to certify jersey as an official therapy dog and then it was right to work. Good boy. I got really lucky with him because hes so smart. Good boy. Smart and sweet. This rescue has office hours two days a week. I do get a lot of students who come in and just, you know, cant stop talking about how awesome it is to have a dog here and how they feel so much more comfortable and have that sense of home. Reporter empire season two is here again being shot in chicago and Jessie Smollett jamaal on the show was happy to return. Chicago is the most beautiful city and i just love being there. Its literally one of my favorite cities in the nation. Reporter the show is set in new york but when it came to shooting episodes the shows cocreator danny strong said chicago was an easy pick. Literally i was on the call and they said you can be chicago or blah, blah blah and i went chicago. Reporter i talked with the stars about season two. First chicagos own jones on how her life has completely changed in less than a year. I went in originally thinking i was going to be the next rap artist. She read some lines and next thing she knew she was cast at cookies assistant. I have eight siblings and i think theyre all jealous because im the favorite one now. [laughter] every time we do something or when we have an event coming up shell say hey come meet my daughter and the rest will be like well what about us. Reporter of course i had to ask for the scoop. How do you top last season . I think that we might be topping it. Yeah so, you know, lee and danny are here and theyre genius. Theyre brilliant people and what theyve done with this next season is just going to set your souls on fire. Reporter so, we asked the shows creator lee daniels and danny strong about how they direct and write such great story lines week after week. I try not to take it too serious cause then ill get too swept away by what people think and just try to keep telling the story and having fun. Yeah. And watching cookie and lucious at it and writing for that insanity and dealing with all those crazy black folks. Its crazy, madness on the set. Reporter whats going to happen this season .
