Back to your fox 29 Weather Authority and boy it was another great day out there. But its about to change. The heat is a coming. Weve been spoiled the past couple of days. Low humidity, temperatures below average but get ready for hazy, hot and humid as we move into the upcoming weekend. That humidity is going to build to dangerous levels. Were talking about a few showers around for your saturday. Also, a few morning clouds to start. And then our heat advisory that kicks in for your sunday. Likely our second heat wave ahead with 90degrees or better for several days. But look at the temperatures right now in center city. Its 82 degrees. Humidity only at 44 . Winds out of the south at 13 miles per hour. So its still pretty comfortable. Get outdoors and enjoy your friday evening. Maybe youre headed to the ballpark or out in the backyard it looks fine. If youre in wilmington, 79 degrees right now. 79 in dover. 80 in trenton so temperatures pretty uniform. So a nice dry evening increasing clouds late tonight a few overnight showers especially after midnight. But for saturday, 90degree heat. By sunday, that 90degree heat factor in the humidity were talking about feels like temperatures in the triple digits. So the coldest or coolest air will be locked up to the north in canada but that area of High Pressure will act as heat pump building in that heat over the next several days. In fact, take look at sunday. Future feels like tepp chers by 3 00 in the afternoon we could approach 106 in millville. Could it feel like 107 degrees in wilmington and 101 in trenton. Thats why the National Weather service has already issued that heat advisory especially along urbanized area, i95 corridor, trenton, philadelphia, wilmington interior south jersey and north and west suburbs feels like temperatures approaching the triple digits and beyond a bit. So fairly quite right now on ultimate doppler a little disturbance that will be approaching our area overnight tonight increasing clouds and once again dont be surprised early on saturday morning to wake up and see mostly cloudy skies across the area as that little disturbance moves through. Scattered showers especially as you move into delaware as well as down the shore. So down the shore will be kind of cloudy start to your saturday with once again some showers likely as we move toward the afternoon more peeks of sunshine and also that threat for some a few pop up showers and thunderstorms but i think that heat and humidity will win the battle against the clouds. As far as whats happening overnight, were looking at 70 in the city. 64 degrees in the suburbs increasing clouds overnight showers once again possible. Cloud cover around a few peeks of sunshine. 90degree heat kind of steamy but once again a few scattered showers around in the city especially the first part of the day. It will be kind of cloudy. Scattered showers maybe a rumble of thunder down the shore. 80 degrees. Low 80s on sunday. So sunday looks like the better of the two days down the shore. But it is going to be cooler than whats going to happen inland. Pocono mountains 82 degrees. A pop up shower or thunderstorm for your saturday. 86 on sunday in the pocono mountains that Weather Authority seven day forecast showing you 90degree temperatures for your saturday. Heat advisory sunday. 94 for the high. But once again feels like temperatures in the triple digits. Monday into degrees. None on tuesday. Still right around 90 for much of next week. He fell right there and i went to pick him up and the blood came spewing out and it was horrible. Reporter jess rushed kevin to eagle animal hospital. Sadly it was too late. Head veterinarian said they discover the treat that jess had given her puppy somehow lodged itself into the dogs trachea and suffocated him. Kind of made a complete and utter plug nothing was getting in nothing was getting out. This went in there so far and boom jammed. As soon as you have no air going in everything starts to shut down. Kit happen very quickly. The doctor pulled up the xray from that day showing us exactly what happened. This is his wind pipe and his trachea and as you follow this down, you can see right there that piece of kibble. So that thing right there should not be there. The doctor says hes not familiar with the specific treat kevin ate but says it is rare for Something Like this to happen. I think definitely the treat kill the dog. You know theres no doubt. Its very unfortunate and very tragic accident. But jessica thinks its more than a tragic accident. You dont think when you give your dog a treat thats the last time that youre going to see them. Good boy. Jessica contacted the maker of the treats which said in return email, the Company Veterinarian agreed with jess vet that it was an unfortunate fluke. They apologized for our loss and they sent us treats for our other dog um and theyre condolences. But jess wants action. What were really advocating for is a change in shape because i think that the shape of the treat mirrors the airway. Its too similar to the puppys throat. So it acts as a plug and then they cant breathe if they were to get stuck. She said this exact thing happened to my borderly puppy when he was four months old. Jessica starred online petition to get the shape changed. Even though theres no proof the shape itself is to blame. You bring your puppy home you think youll have years together and we didnt. You dont think its going to be a few weeks. Now i reach out to the treat maker whos called this isolated incident of aspirating food. The company says, its heart goes out to jessica during this difficult time. No mention made of changing the shape of the tree. Now jess vet says while it probably would not have helped in kevins case you can perform the heimlich maneuver on dogs much the same way as doing abdominal thrusts on people. And the way you give a dog a treat can prevent them from choking. Make sure your dog is sitting and calm and dont toss a treat because thats one sure way that it get lodged in your pets throat.
