Very scary moments last night for someone who lives in the gaithersburg station apartments here. Its a very large apartment complex so to be honest we really didnt get a pinpoint from Gaithersburg Police as far as exactly where the apartment complex this happened. We can tell you it was 11 30 last night, the Victim Told Police he had come home from work, he heard a knock on his door. He looked out and saw a man standing there, thought he was in distress, so he opened the door. Then the man and two other men rushed into his apartment with handguns. They demanded property. The victim told them take what you want. The suspects took the victims wallet, laptop cell phone and then two guns described as a long gun and handgun. We havent been able to confirm the models of the guns at this time and the man was not injured. The three men then fled and we do have their descriptions. Well show this to you right now. One suspect is a black male 6 feet 2inches tall dark skin with a day old the second suspect hispanic male with what they said was a chinstrap beard. No physical description on the third suspect other than a man wearing dark clothing. Now, heres the description of the car that police are looking for at this hour. A 2004 to 2006 police style White Ford Crown vic with tinted windows an spot like like what you would see on a police car or taxicab. Theyre saying new style maryland tags. If youre a maryland driver you probably recognize these. Well show these to you right now. Its the tag that has the maryland flag across the bottom. Ignore this where it says maryland proud. City of Gaithersburg Police tell us this was a secured Apartment Building so they just again want to remind people tt open your door for anyone that you dont know and again, still a very active search at this point for the car and those suspects. Crews responded to the red roof inn on washington boulevard just after midnight. The fire was under control in about 10 minutes. There were no injuries reported. That investigation is ongoing. Later this morning, you might run into some road closures along 95 in Stafford County. State police and investigators continue to work on solving a near decades old cold case. The search for the remains of Pamela Butler is under way and fox5s annie yu is live in Stafford County now with an update. Annie, good morning. Reporter good morning, allison and steve. That massive search will be under way closer to 10 oclock this morning. Law enforcement and the family trying to find the remains of pamela butle get some closure for the family. The focus of the search will be along the 95 corridor closer to the garrisonville exit and so that again will take place around 10 oclock this morning, but, you know, Pamela Butler, weve done many stories about this story over the last few years. Its been eight years. She went missing in 2009 she wasnt just 47 years old at the time of her disappearance. She worked as an analyst for the Environmental Protection agency and earlier this year in october, her boyfriend at the time, Jose Rodriguez cruz he admitted to killing her and then told investigators that he strangled her during an argument in the basement of her home in northwest d. C. And then he drove her body to a wooded area off 95 in Stafford County, virginia. Rodriguez cruz he pleaded guilty to Second Degree murder and as part of plea deal he was sentenced to 12 years in prison but he also agreed to lead detectives to exactly where he buried pamela along 95 and so, again, at 10 oclock today, many of you who live or take the 95 corridor through stafford, youre going to see heightened Police Activity in the area as they search for the remains. Theyre going to be shutting down a portion of 95 express lanes in stafford near the garrisonville road exit for a few hours, but the general purpose lanes of 95 in stafford or Prince William will not be impacted. Law enforcement from d. C. , stafford and virginia all involved in trying to solve this mystery. Theyre going to focus in the thick woods on both the northbound and southbound lanes. We spoke to pamelas brother, derek butler, earlier this week and he says after eight agonizing years, her family still remains hopeful. Even though we know what happened to my sister, shes still missing. She didnt have a proper burial. She doesnt have a proper resting place and thats what we want for her. Reporter now, over the years, as you can imagine, theres been a lot of construction in the area. The terrain may have changed, so Law Enforcement saying that it later today. But this, again, going on for a few hours and we should also mention that Rodriguez Cruz, he Arlington Police are investigating a case from 1989 where his first wife, marta, disappeared and so that remains still an active case in Arlington County and the family, Pamela Butlers family has long suspected Rodriguez Cruz of her murder. This week coming out are two massive films the shape of water as well as dark coast hour. The shape of the water is a film i think will be nominated for a ton of academy awards. It deals with baltimore in the 1960s and the concept is it sounds strange but bear with me here, a woman played by Sally Hawkins shes mute and language. She works in the custodial staff of a Government Laboratory where a new asset has come in there. Hes a sea creature. The idea is they fall in love with each other. Its a beautiful story. Its one of the most grounded and emotional stories ive seen this year. You got to get past that element of him being a sea creature because the film does a great job of just developing this character. Every performance is amazing michael shannon, mike call stall berg. Beautifully shot. The score is incredible. Sally hawkins honors the asl community with the sign language and the eternal quality of her character. I love this movie, one of the best films of the year, highly recommend seeking it out if you get a chance. 4. 5 out of five. What about dark coast hour. This is a great film steve and a lot of people are calling this a good companion east to dunkirk. Takes place during world two. Winston power and makes a decision that changes the course of world war ii the whole idea of dunkirk and operation dynamo. Gary old man does a phenomenal job. He looks nothing like gary old man and the way he carries himself, hes going to win the oscar this year absolutely no question, though i do think that old mang deserved it for previous films like true romance the professional and the fifth element. I dont think this is the best movie hes made but i think hell win this year for his career. My choice would be andy circus. The shape of water will get nominated for best picture best director best actress. Darkest hour will get a best nomination. We get these films relatively early compared to the rest of the country.
