Jose Rodriguez Cruz plead guilty to this crime finally after all these years just this past october. As part of the plea deal he was sentenced to 12 years in prison. League Second Degree murder, and he told the police that he would lead them to the body. Its taken now a couple of months, but we believe that search will begin tomorrow in woods along i95 both the north and southbound lanes and in woods in the median there. My firs q thinking about talking to you, youre a student at georgetown university. Do you think people your age really understand, um, how monumental this is, whats going on right now . Because you havent been in that Workplace Environment yet to even understand some of those precious that some of these accusers have faced. Yes, i think especially on College Campuses, weve been talking about Sexual Assault for probably longer than most the u. S. In general. Especially because were not in the workplace yet, but given sort of the social situation of college its already a big issue for us as college students. So its really exciting to see this happen in the main stream with so many men and women. Why do you think the me too movement took off when it did . Was it solely the Harvey Weinstein case . I think that was a huge part of it, because women saw Harvey Weinstein and how the accusations caused such a huge change in his life and i think that empowered other women to come forward with the hopes they would also be successful and finally having justice. Is it a matter of finally being believed . Like if you Say Something, someone is actually going to hear me . I think so. I think that was huge because i think in the past it was sort of it was definitely a bigger risk. You werent sure if you would be believed or if you would just be sort of pushed into the side lines, and destroyed by the accuser publicly. But now after Harvey Weinstein fell so dramatically i think its empowered a lot of women to come forward and share their stories. Now we have Harvey Weinstein coming out real really going after his accusers saying look none of them said no. None of this was not consensual and weve seen that from several other people, too. Like, you know, i didnt force her to do that. Maybe verbally or whatever. What do you think about that tactic coming now from the accuser or the people that are accused . I think he thought he didnt have any other option and i think this is a key cas fell in reclaiming his position in hollywood and his place of, um, importance i think that that will make other one more cautious in the future whether or not they decide to come forward. So i think that what hes doing is really his last resort but its also a really terrible thing to say to women that, oh, because you didnt say no, because you didnt maybe fight back, i think thats too much of an expectation. Going into hotel room with someone who has so much more power and influence than you, you automatically need to know your place in society. You have to say, maybe i should proceed more cautiously if im a track to do some of these women. Maybe i should make sure that i specifically ask permission rather than just assume. Then just playing definitelys advocate maybe some would say as a woman, dont go in the room. Sure. But going into a hotel room doesnt give anyone permission to do anything to you. Because its not some sort of social expectation that just because youre having with someone and maybe theyre feeling ill you dont necessarily know why youve been called up to the hotel room, i dont think that going into the room is giving your consent. Excuse me. Youre fine. We see the same thing on College Campuses people will say, oh, well you were at that party. You had a drink. That mean you wanted to hook up with someone. No theres difference between necessarily going to a place or acting a certain way and consent to go sexual activity. We have this conversation a lot because you have the Harvey Weinsteins of the world clearly he knew what he was doing was wrong. Right. Umhmm. Using his power. He overtly used it but then we have this like culture where there are some things that kind of happen because people just kind of think its okay they didnt really understand that what they were doing was inappropriate. Do you feel like young men now a days are now specifically are starting to learn what the rules are what these new rules are . I really hope so. But im not super confident just because on colleges we still have all these Sexual Assault cases, and you have so many women saying that, upping, like getting theyre getting wolf whistled at or people are winning at them when making them feel uncomfortable and i think what were doing is were trying to say, you know, there are consequences for these behaviors. It doesnt matter whether or not you personally think its okay. Society says this is not acceptable, and if you do it, youre going to be punish in some way. I think that is the most important thing that we can do is say, there are consequences for those actions. I dont care whether or not you think thats acceptable as a young man to smack someone when they walk by because there are going to be consequences for those actions. Do you think there could be a backlash to the me to movement. I think were starting to see it with Harvey Weinstein coming back and with river as collins maybe the women are after money. So i think theres going t backlash but hopefully it wont be a significant one. Admittedly there are lots of shades of gray. Unfortunately do you have some of the women, right, that are in it for money then you have the real victims out there and it just makes it all so complicated luckily people your young age are addressing it and talking about it and experiencing this movement that were in now. Old front that brought us the cooler air hanging out to our south and east. Were watch low pressure develop along it. It will be far enough east that were just going to get fringe impacts but i do think that it is possible that by late tomorrow night early saturday well have enough cold air in place and enough moisture we can get some flakes going here washington south and east. Again im not concerned about accumulations but lets throw it out there there could be some flakes in our first flakes of the season by early saturday morning. How much we looking at . The nam model here is trying to bring about a dusting or some snowflakes south and east of town by early saturday morning. Its about having people understand who you are. And i think thats the foundation for any strong relationship and thats one where engagement and wedding is in your plans or Family Member or good friend or coworker. She said come on. I waited. My stepmom left me. But she just waited around the corner but i didnt know that. But still. Patti got whipped of it and offered to put me in her limousine and take me home. You lead a charmed life my friend. Isnt that something. I know you met patti but im looking at the decor. Marlos dad danny thomas, 55 years ago, founded saint judes hospital. In 2004, marlo created the thanks and giving campaign to support the hospital which provides free cancer care to every child who needs it. Free care to every child. Its amazing. It is safe to call the campaign a huge success. As a matter of fact, were one we talk about this campaign and its success it raised almost 700 million since it started and that assures family never spend one penny of their own money while beating treated at saint judes. Marlo joins us live from new york. Its great to see you again. Its probably better if i brag on your accomplishments i know [ laughter ] it would be rude if i had you brag about yourself. 700 million is an amazing number and i know you probably wish that number was two or three times that and youll keep going until you get there. Well actually, actually its 800 million. See. There you go. Almost grown 100. Yeah, we raised 800 million in 14 years for the thanks and giving campaign. And its very exciting. The first year we raised 8 million. And last year we raised 115 million. Thats because i think that the American Public have heard about it more and more. They see it everywhere. And they everywhere i go, people thank me for saint jude and surprising to me that theres nowhere that i go that there isnt somebody in the room thats been touched by saint jude. Either their own family, their neighbor, their cousin, somebody has been touch by the work of saint screwed. We see 200 children a day. And our doctors do 4,000 consults a year with doctors and hospitals that children dont so were impacting the children of america in so many ways. And also all of our discoveries are spread out through the entire world. The medical and scientific world. So saint jude is everywhere. My father my brother always says that our laboratories may not be in your city but our discoveries certainly are. And that is the truth of saint jude. The important thing about Saint Jude Childrens Research Hospital is that it is a research center. Whats being worked out at saint jude is then taken into the clinic where the children get the first chance at this lifesaving effort, whatever it is. Every child who comes to saint jude has both a doctor and a scientist on their case, which is a huge difference. Thats why doctors zen us their very toughest cases because they know were working on what nobody else knows. Were working on what we dont know. Because we are a research center. What i think thanks go ahead. Because she did something so outrageously generous she just had no idea that many people would come and shed have match 400,000. But bless her heart. Shes thats exactly right. Giving is contagious. And we want of year. We want you to give thanks for the healthy kids in your life and give to those fighting for their lives. Well, yeah, that was kind of the area in front of the drive in and all the trailers were back there and you had the ad trailers in front and a pingpong table where we were constantly playing i was constantly beating adam at pingpong at that table. And then we would, yeah, thats where we would pass by each other kind of like the water cooler area, and yeah, whenever i would see carrie and billy on the little golf cart, id have a coke with her and bug her and kiss her. We would sing or do, you know, all sorts of stuff there. That was that was just a lot of days were like that. Beautiful moment. Yeah.
