Seth stephanopoulos also asked trump about the evidence contained in the Mueller Report that he obstructed justice in fact, more than 1,000 former prosecutors signed a letter saying that there was enough evidence to indict trump but when stephanopoulos asked trump about itat, trump dismisse Robert Mueller said hes not reached a decision that could and he laid out all th evidencen more thaa thousand former federal prosecutors. Oh thats theyre all politicians. Hey, george, look, i know more about prosecutors than youll ever know. [ laughter ] [ audience ohs ] seth that doesnt sound as good as you think it sounds. I think maybe you do both i thk you might want to sten i dont theres nothing wrong with listening seth wow, dude you would have been better off if that answer had been interrupted by coughing. [ applause ] but in a way, it was was at least refreshing to finally get an honest impression from trump, because before this interview, trump was still pretending he had no intert in colluding with a Foreign Government for one thing, there were the allcaps tweets screaming no collusion, and last week trump even lied to reporters are claimed the muellert had actually shown that his campaign rejected contacts from the russian Government Trump made that comment while e sitting next to esident of poland, and he couldnt help but get him involved the Mueller Report spoke. They were very disappointed. It said no collusion, and no obstruction and no nothing and, in fact, it said, we actually rebuffed your friends from russia. Seth his friends, what [ laughter ] why are you dragging him into it m . Are you trying to frame i had nothing to do with russia, but you should talk to this guy over here [ laughter ] guilty as hell. And even if you put aside trumps latest comments, theres all the damning evidence about his campaigns contacts withns russians, his nt praise for Vladimir Putin and even how excited trump is to see him. He and he was tirst real, you know, celebrity that i ever met and certainly movie star and so i was really, really, like, taken with him and he was a very, very generous and warm guy ill never forget, he did a party that i got invited to, and we were all staying at this crappy hotel he had a house, a rented house, i think it was by the water. And he had everybody come over and he had brunch, and he had flown lox from new york. And that blew my mind. [ laughter ] that first off, he would have a party, be able to afford it and they would go to it was like zabars Barney Greengrass or something, get this giant is ever ate lox, becait was too expensive. Yes seth which is a great gift to any of those people that you were lucky enough to visit anybody can take it set you were in compton you were learning about the Marijuana Industry and how it affects the legalization well, yesed a lot of weed seth yeah. [ laughter ] yeah, i guess theres no way around it. Its legal there seth yeah, yeah. We were covering some of the strange pitfalls of the legalization theres an Equity Program thats trying to counter effect the war on drugs there theres an uererground market. Ths a ton of markets we went to many of those markets. We indulged in some of those markets. We went to a block party at the end. There are some actually really Inspiring Stories there of people who have been affected br the war on drugs, sted who now have legal businesses there. And we went to a block party whine they were celebrating way that you can legally celebrate now. [ light laughter ] we were not. And our intern was going around and getting people to sign waivers that they could be on camera, and then, when we had to go home, she was so high that she couldnt drive the car anymore. [ laughter ] so she got contact high just from getting waivers signed. [ laughter ] and i felt terrible firing her seth you [ laughter ] well, you got to learn she was numb. She was numb at the time seth youve got to learn you have to learn this is a tough business [ laughter ] you cant get contact high be a pro, gwen or whatever her name was [ laughter ] seth far more serious outcome, you were in atlanta yes seth doing a piece on a university that educates undocumented people. Is that correct . Yes, its called Freedom University seth and dou got arrested. Seth yeah. How did that go down, and how were you feeling when that was going down nervous seth yeah. I spent most of my life trying not to get arrested and this was an inspiring story. It was students who just wanted education. And in georgia, they make that tough for people who are daca, for people who are uocumented, and so there was an opportunity where i could stand up with other faith leaders. Ta and when you s up in georgia, sometimes they lock you up and they did exactly that. 12 hours, but it gave nough or street cred to talk about it for 12 years at least. [ laughter ] seth you ran into somebody in prison that was a pretty instant connection i did honestly, the idea of getting arrested was something i was pretty unsure about. Id never been arreste ive always been a pretty good guy. And so, i was nervous. I felt right in supporting this cause, but when i got arrested, i was arrested next to pastor matt, who was my grandmothers pastor back inhi kalamazoo, micn. [ cheers ] and we were in atlanta yeah, give it up for pastor matt. [ cheers and applause seth yeah. They love a good faith leader here seth yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And it was amazing. I spent the day in jail. He had traveled around he found himself in atlanta. Aris was a cause that he c about. Little old atheist me was taken to meet him ten years earlier by my grandmother who takes me. Li she was , i want you to meet a good person. [ light laughter ] this is pastor matt. And now, i look back at my grandma, and like, look, im doing exactly what pastomatt did, grandma im a good guy. Ug [ laer ] seth you also you got a mugshot. Yeah. Seth and the mugshot became the poster for your show it did. Know that that was going to be [ light laughter ] well, pretty quickly. Seth yeah. I think when you go this far, its a sexy mugshot. Seth yeah, it really is. You did, i mean, again, im guessing you get one shot, its like the dmv they wont let you they say you cant smile, and its one shot seth gotcha. So in that moment, i know Comedy Central is so cheap that if they can get a federally paid for piece of propaganda, theyll use it [ lahter ] they did we came back theyre like, we dont need to hire a stylist or anything, lets just use that thing. Put it up. Sh thats great. [ light laughter ] you have one call, obviously, i know that from tv when you get arrested yeah. Seth who do you call who got ites you call the onou love. Seth yeah. My producer seth you called your producer yeah [ laughter ] yeah. Seth you are married, right . I am married, yes seth and how did she take that news . She was fine with it. I think like i love my wife ainot that i have to proclthat to you im not defensive about it seth no, i get it. Does it sound like im defensive . Seth no, no, no. [ laughter ] im not defensive [ laughter ] in that moment, i need somebody seth yeah. One. Were like currently trying to buy a coffee table for i think were going on month two [ laughter ]h. And my producer works for me, so you call that person whose job depends on it. Seth yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, i called zach and he got me out of there. Seth there you go. Putting yourself at risk not just of arrest but of injury but your arrest story, very cool yeah, right seth im going to not judge at all your injury story may be less cool yes so ive talked about i mean,o in the i get body slammed. I get arrested but i have what doctors call an avian bones in my feet eth okay, i got you so like bird bones bird bones, yeah. To the layperson [ laughter ] but, yeah, a few years back, i it was new years new ars day and i wanted to get healthy, so i took a free crossfit class and it was me and 15 other people who were pressured into ying to get healthy. And i broke my foot, because i jumped on a box too hard [ laughtea ] itd. Four months later, i met a friend for drinks and we couldnt get a table so i stood for two hours and standing it broke my foosecond time. [ laughter ] and then after that, i found a job behind a desk, which is a b, nice safe jond now, im back out in the world seth walking around. Walking around. Seth getting arrested with your whtrd bird feet [ laug ] what are you going to do . Seth youre in prison cells, and theyre like, hey, bird feet. [ laughter ] yeah, i dont have great prison guy stories i have bird feet g i al arrested at a georgia board of regents meeting [ laughter ] doesnt give you any credibility.
