Now, about 1 49 this morning, police were telling us that two vehicles were involved in a crash. What appeared to be two trucks crashing on hewitt avenue. Both drivers, both men in this case were taken to the hospital and one of those men has since died as a result of his injuries. So, at this point, this area of Georgia Avenue will be shut down for several hours for a Fatal Crash Investigation. That means drivers are going to have to plan workarounds. Also, you are advised to leave early. The traffic in this area is expected to build up as the morning wears on and this investigation wears on here as well. Montgomery county fire says someone crashed at the i270 spur in bethesda last night. That person got out of the car to check the damage and then hit by another car. Both drivers went to the hospital. The driver who got out of the car has lifethreatening injuries. A terrible accident in a town house has left 11yearold boy fighting for his life. Police are still investigating but this accident happened at a town house on bellamy way. Police say a babysitter, a retired member of the military, was putting away his legally owned gun when it went off. The bullet hit the child in his upper body. Investigators say the 33yearold babysitter drove the boy to joint base andrews hospital. Doctors stabilized the boy and moved him to Childrens Hospital in the district. Hes in Critical Condition. Police have not released the identity of the babysitter. The shooting death of an unarmed d. C. Man is now being called unjustified, the word after an internal investigation found officer brian trainer violated Department Policy in the shooting of terrence sterling. The Police Review board also says the sfsh should be fired. Police were chasing sterling in september of 2016. Officers say sterlings motorcycle ran into a cruiser. Thats when trainer fired two shots, killing the police chief says the department is going to be transparent. Ive asked people all along the way to be patient, wait for the outcome. Trainer has to either accept the recommendation or challenge it by requesting a hearing. A Prince Georges CountyPolice Officer accused of witness intimidation is expected in court this morning. Officer adrian is being charged intimidation, accessory after the fact and misconduct in office. It all started when county police launched an internal investigation of his background in 2015.
