Hes facing Domestic Violence charges. No one was hurt. A spike on crime. And a new crackdown developing in d. C. We now know the names of three homicide victims. The cases happened within hours of each other yesterday. Someone shot and killed Amare Jenkins outside the st. Luke Catholic Church on east capital street. Later, tanika fanatanel died in a shooting on Savannah Street in northeast. It also hurt her 12yearold son. Police found william connellys body at 17th and ebart street northwest. The d. C. Police chief says illegal guns are involved in all of the cases. You can see theres now a 1,000 reward for reporting an illegal gun. In about four hours, former Fairfax County officer adamtortion will be arraigned adam torres will be arraigned and learn whether or not he will be released on bond. This is stemming from incidents that happened in august of 2013. Officer torres was among the Fairfax County Police Officers responding to a domestic situation that turned into a barricade or standoff. Now, there was negotiation going on with another officer. Torres apparently had his gun trained on the subject, who is now the person who died, john gear. And at some point, fired his weapon. Gear was struck and killed. Torres said that he thought gear might have been reaching for a weapon. Other officers in reports preliminarily said they did not see the same thing. This happened almost ten days short of two years. In about three hours, officer adam torres will make an initial appearance here in Fairfax Countys circuit court. This stems from the incident that happened back in 2013. It was august of 2013, just ten days short of a twoyear mark since the crime happened. There was a domestic call at the springfield home of john gear. He was in the process of negotiating or talking to other Police Officers when he was shot in his doorway. Officer torres or former officer torres fired the shot saying that he thought that gear had made a move toward a weapon. Other officers on the scene said they did not see that. A grand jury investigated the firing at the end of last month, coming back with the charge of seconddegree murder. He will be arraigned again on that charge today. Also there will be part of the hearing set aside to see if there will be any relief on bond. That charge carries anywhere from five to 40 years in prison if convicted.
