A Software Glitch in the Fire Departments new dispatch system which uses Tablet Computers meant it failed to recognize the paramedic was at the station. He says there was also human error. He says the supervisor at the fire station, a lieutenant, violated policy by not recognizing the address was close by and alerting dispatchers. He is being sent to a trial board for neglect of duty and incompetence. The department has been criticized for closing proceedings in the heart attack of 47yearold cecil mills outside a d. C. Fire station. Its my hope and its our intent to have the whole process be transparent. And i hope we can deliver on that as well. He is very distraught about the whole thing. The federal government is now investigating how the Arlington County jail cares for its inmates. Theyre launching an investigation after a deaf inmate filed a lawsuit earlier are this year. Abraham says he spent weeks in the jail before he was provided with the interpreter. The inmates lawsuit is being put on hold during this investigation and the jail has defended its treatment of deaf inmates.
